Back on July 4th I wrote a crazy Hot Joint entitled “Stop Talkin’ Crazy” telling all of these media-types to stop it with the Cleveland Browns Super Bowl contender talk. It was ridiculous to call yourself a sports writer, analyst or even a clear thinking human being to believe that the Browns were going to be a Super Bowl contender.
We’ve just completed Week 6 and they’re a dumpster fire just like I told you they would be. They’re 2-4 with darn near the worst quarterback in the league. Baker Mayfield has thrown 11 interceptions in 6 games. According to ESPN Stats & Information research ole boy has thrown the most interceptions by a Browns quarterback through 6 games since Paul McDonald threw 12 in 1984. Who’s Paul McDonald? That’s my freakin’ point. As a franchise they’ve had 30 starting quarterbacks in the past 20 years and he’s played worse than all of them but one. Incredible!!!
This guy is killing them and it’ll just be a matter of time before Mr. Emotional himself, Odell Beckham Jr., shows up and acts a complete fool too. It was a disaster when they put these cats together. Baker wants to be a gun slinger like Brett Favre but he’s not Brett Favre. Brett would be reckless with the football but he could make up for it by throwing touchdowns and winning. Baker’s just throwing interceptions and looking crazy.
After all playas, it’s the Cleveland Browns. One of the worst ran franchises in all of sports. There is a culture in that building that is toxic and it’s been that way for 50 years. There’s a losing culture that will take more that some unwanted cats, Baker Mayfield and some funky uniforms to turn it around in year one. Oh yeah, they’ve got the funky uni’s bruh. Fyahhhhh!!!!
However, uniforms never helped a boy win games, at least not in the NFL. Oregon pulled it off under Chip Kelly and was able to recruit better players but this is the NFL. You’ve got to draft well, do a great job in free agency and then, coach and motivate the team to win. That’s not happening in Cleveland playa.
So sit in the cut and watch this foolishness sink like the Titanic because it’s only going to get worse. OBJ hasn’t started acting a fool yet. In my Denny Green voice, “The Browns ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!” Stop me when I start lyin’!
