Turnovers, Miscues and the Titans beat the Colts 31-17! “Just Give It Away”

INDIANAPOLIS — If I’d only shown you the box score of the Colts/Titans game you would have sworn that Indianapolis walked out of the joint with the “W.” They had more first downs, total plays, total yards, twice as many passing yards and more than 5 minutes more in time of possession. However, they took the “L” losing 31-17  to a team that’s only won for the third time in the past 17 meetings in this match up. As a result the Colts were jumped for second place in the AFC South by the Titans.

It’s the same ole conversation as Adam Vinatieri missed three field goals. It wasn’t all on the kicking game however. Jacoby Brissett threw two picks with the first resulting in a 31-yard field goal to tie the joint up late in the third quarter at 17. Then the bottom fell out.

The Titan’s Tye Smith blocked a Vinatieri field goal and returned it 63-yards for the go ahead touchdown making it 24-17 with 5:02 left to play.

At the 4:41 mark Brissett throws his second pick.  Tennessee’s Ryan Tannehill then unloaded a 40-yard touchdown pass to Kalif Raymond with 3:02 left to play to close the deal on Indianapolis.

Even after the last Tennessee score the Colts were still looking to soil the mattress by turning it over once again on a fumble. Titan ball and ball game. All day it was turnovers, miscues and foolishness….

Indianpolis fall to 6-6 overall and down to third in the AFC South as the Titans sit in the second spot behind the Texans. Up next the Colts travel to Tampa Bay on Sunday.
