Steph Curry EXPLODES for 38 points to lead Warriors in comeback over Clippers. “I’ll just close my mouth now!”

When the NBA season started the Warriors were on the struggle bus and everybody and their cousin Man-Man was looking at Steph Curry. Boyz, including myself wanted to know could he lead this team without his usual weapons around him.

I have to admit that I doubted very seriously that he could. Well playas…I’ve been proven wrong! DEAD wrong. After droppin’ off a career high 62 points earlier this week on Portland. He turned around on Friday night and lit up the Clippers for 38 in a dramatic comeback win 115-105.

On Wednesday he was held to only 13 points in a loss to the Clippers. Friday night looked to be going the same way before Steph turned on the lights in the joint and went nuts. Scoring from everywhere in the building but the janitor’s closest and he only missed that spot because he didn’t have the key.

The two-time MVP was on fire and literally unconscious as he led the Warriors out of a huge deficit to outscore the Clippers 64-40 in the second half.

I guess I’ll keep my mouth shut when it comes to criticizing Steph. Until I see him fall apart with my own two eyes in the playoffs when it really counts without his guns around him. I’ve got nothing else to say about him. Oh, and I doubt very seriously that he will fall apart at this point. His confidence is too high as a shooter. So I’m done talking crazy.

By the time we get to the playoffs, the way he’s playing. He’ll have these young cats around him inspired to play better. They’ll have more confidence to take shots because the floor will be so wide open because of his ability to shoot from anywhere.

According to Paul George after the game that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

“I mean you got a guy that’s hot like that, it takes a lot of pressure off for everybody at that point,” said George. “Guys play harder. They got a guy who at any point can get hot and is an obvious offensive threat from anywhere on the court. It just fuels the whole team. They want to make extra plays, they want to keep their guy hot, keep the ball in his hands. And then it just gets to a point where they get comfortable, they get confident, the basket is just big for them. So I think that is what happened tonight.”

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had this to say, “Number one, because he’s Steph Curry. There’s not too much you have to say beyond it’s just who Steph is. He’s been doing this for many, many years and one of the reasons he’s a two-time MVP and he’s a phenomenal basketball player. And usually with Steph when he has a tough game he bounces back [in] the next one. That’s part of his character, part of his competitiveness. He found something out there, he found some openings, and got himself going.”

You won’t hear me asking boyz where Steph is or does he have the ability to lead the Warriors without his sidekicks Klay Thompson or Durant ever again. This kid is deadly with or without them.

According to Elias Sports Bureau research, Steph is now 141-39 in his career when he scores 30 or more points. That’s a .783 win percentage and is the third-best all time among 78 players to record at least 100 3-point games. The only players who have a better percentage are Larry Bird and Hal Greer. I’ve got nothing else to say. Stop me when I start lyin’!
