THE BUBBLE — The Los Angeles Lakers are two wins away from winning their 18th NBA title thanks to another impressive showing by their dynamic duo on Friday night. LeBron James and Anthony Davis did work in a 124-114 Game 2 win over the Miami Heat.
LeBron led all scorers with 33 points dropping off 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the process. Did I mention that this is year 17 for him? Anthony Davis exploded for 32 points and 14 rebounds knocking down 14 of his first 15 shots just to let a boy know. He finished 15-for-20 shooting for the night!!! That’s NUTS!!!! Did I mention that the dun is darn near 7-feet tall playing on the perimeter more than he’s playing with his back to the basket? Absolutely incredible!!
The Heat were without two of their stars, Bam Adebayo (neck and left shoulder) and Goran Dragic (torn left plantar fascia) and it’s questionable if one or both would be back for Game 3. They may as well save them for next year playa because the last time the Lakers blew a 2-0 lead was way back in 1969 against the Celtics and last I checked Bill Russell isn’t suiting up for the Miami Heat. As a matter of fact, Bill Russell probably isn’t even getting dressed at is age.
In my Johnny Mathis voice, “Yes it’s over! Call it a day. Sorry that it had to end this way. No reason to pretend, we knew it had to end this way.” That Philistine is in the ride with a young cat that is willing to ride shotgun and learn how to be a winner long term. That’s a problem for the rest of the league right now. Kyrie could learn a thing or two from AD.
Instead of sitting on the sideline hating on LeBron he could be sitting right next to him winning more titles. Instead he’s doing meaningless interviews on podcasts talking crazy about not needing a coach and who’s taking the last shot. Ridiculous!!! You’ve got to be playing in big games to make clutch shots playa.
Game 3 is Sunday night. I know that all of the haters are sick to their stomachs watching LeBron continue to have success. It’s killin’ them to see but it is what it is. Stop me when I start lyin’!
