Why I’m not mad at Andrew Luck for walking away at 29 with a pocket full of money! “Real Life”

INDIANAPOLIS — Immediately after the Colts third preseason game against the Chicago Bears Andrew Luck held an impromptu press conference to announce that he would be retiring. He had spoken with owner Jim Irsay earlier to tell him and was scheduled to hold a press conference on Sunday but changed his mind because the word had gotten out.

Speaking in front of reporters Luck had this to say, “I’ve been stuck in this process. I haven’t been able to live the life I want to live. It’s taken the joy out of this game … the only way forward for me is to remove myself from football. This is not an easy decision. It’s the hardest decision of my life. But it is the right decision for me.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I don’t blame the guy at all for walking away. He’s been beaten and banged up for the past 4 or 5 years. The Colts haven’t been able to protect him and every time he takes a shot it’s like being in a car accident. Literally.

Ole boy was drafted to replace the legend, Peyton Manning, when he was taken with the No.1 overall pick of the 2012 draft. Luck came in rolling as he guided Indianapolis to three straight playoff appearences including back-to-back AFC South titles and to the AFC Championship Game in 2014.

Then his career hit the guard rails when the offensive line started to fail him. In Week 3 of the 2015 season he suffered a shoulder injury that caused him to miss a total of 26 games including the entire 2017 season. Not only did he have the shoulder injury but we later found out that he had kidney and rib injuries as well fooling around with that terrible offensive line.

Who would want to keep playing after all of that? He’s 29 years old and for the past five years all he’s been doing is trying to play without pain. He’s spent what seems like every waking hour rehabbing and trying to at least stay on the field.

I’m not mad at him for walking away. He’s  made more that $97.1 million on the field already according to Spotrac. He had 3 years remaining on his current contract that he singed in 2016 that was a 6-year deal worth $140 million.

So he’s walking away from darn near $77 million still owed to him but he’s got bread. According to Jim Irsay Luck could potentially be walking away from $500 million in future earnings because of the way quarterbacks are getting paid right now.

Bruh…who keeps putting microphones in Irsay’s face? Didn’t the dun (Luck) just say that he was tired of being in the cycle of hurt, rehabbing and trying just get on the field. He can’t get future contracts if he can’t play. Stop talking to Irsay.

With Luck’s knowledge and experience of the game he’ll be working for ESPN or one of these other major networks by Wednesday if he wanted to, and that’s easy money relatively speaking. He’ll be just fine without having to get hit ever again. Good luck playboy.

And for those idiot Colts fans that were booing him on Saturday night because the word had gotten out. Shame on you. That man doesn’t work for you and he’s not your built-in entertainment. How on earth do you boo a man for deciding what’s best for he and his family? Idiots. Stop me when I start lyin’!
