INDIANAPOLIS — Fan is short for fanatic and in the case of Indianapolis Colts fans on Saturday evening it should be changed to idiot!!! As the news of Andrew Luck’s retirement made it’s way through Lucas Oil Stadium as the team exited the field fans started booing him. Yes, you read that right. They booed Andrew Luck for retiring due to continuous injury and having to rehab every year.
They booed the man that took over for Peyton Manning and guided them to three straight playoff appearances including back-to-back AFC South titles and to the AFC Championship Game in 2014 before the injuries took over.
These fans have been running around this town worshipping him, for lack of a better word, wearing his jersey and singing his praises since the day he set foot in town in 2012. Now he makes a decision that’s best for he and his family and they turn on him. That’s a fan for you though. They love players when they’re on the field giving them something to cheer about and once they’ve been used up they turn their backs on the players. Down right shameful.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Andrew Luck should get on a plane and never return to Indianapolis again. To treat a man that way is a deal breaker. As much as he’s sacrificed to get on the field to keep that franchise and city relevant in the NFL conversation and to treat him that way is foul. Luck didn’t have to play through the injuries but he did.
He had jacked up kidneys, ribs and a shoulder and played through them. He was a walking ER at one point showing the guts of a lion and now you’re booing him because he’s had enough? This is OUTRAGEOUS!! He should turn his back on Indy in return. He should act like he’s never even been to Indianapolis for the rest of his life. That’s real talk. If you can’t appreciate the work he’s put in then you don’t deserve to have him come back in retirement.
Luck has been nothing but a true professional since the day he walked him and to treat him that way on his way out is disgusting. Colts fans don’t deserve another great player because of the way they treated Luck on his way out.
Crazy thing is, nobody’s going to ever admit to being one of the idiots that booed him! It’s like haters and racists. Nobody ever admits to being one. SMH and Stop me when I start lyin’!
