I’ve been sitting in the cut watching this Houston Rockets foolishness play out and it’s a complete disaster down there. James Harden wants out and Russell Westbrook is waiting on an expensive Uber to get him out of town too. Who’s surprised?
When they brought Young Russ in last year everybody and their baby’s momma knew that it was going to be a complete dumpster fire. I wrote several pieces on it being the dumbest move ever because they both have to have the ball in their hands at the same time. Not to mention that it was James Harden’s team and now you’re bringing in another Alpha male that will require it to be his team too.
However, the Rockets thought that they were smarter than every single rational human being on the planet. Now they’ve got two duns that they still owe more than $131 million each and a little over $46 million in roster bonuses coming up and neither one of them want to be there. They even offered Harden $50 million per year for the next two seasons and he told them to kick rocks.
Look here playa, they’re already obligated to pay him $41 million, $44 million and $47 million for the next three seasons anyway. He can’t do any more with $50m than he can with what they already owe him. So that was stupid to even offer. By the way they owe Young Russ the same get down.
Oh, and did I mention that they got a new general manager, Rafael Stone, that’s still green talking like a crazy man? Ole boy says they’re “willing to get uncomfortable” as training camp opens and the season begins.
So he’s going to try to force a couple of cats to be happy when they’ve already told them that they want out.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Somebody’s gotta go playa!! They may not be able to move both of them right now but one of them has got to go. And on some real talk, the only one they can move is the dun that they can least afford to get rid of.
Nobody wants or needs Young Russ. He doesn’t make any team better. If anything, he makes them frustrated. And NOBODY’s going to pay $131 million for him and give up all of their assets. You’d have to give up all kinds of players and first round draft picks etc. For stat chasing Russ? You would have to be out of your entire mind to do that.
And why does Harden want out? He just wants his team back! He should be lobbying for the Rockets to get rid of Russ and get him some help that’s over 6’9″. That’s their problem. That was their problem when they went and got Russ in the first place. Russ wasn’t going to make them better. Who thought that was a good idea?
Harden is literally asking to leave Houston to go to another bad situation. Whoever trades for him and is willing to give up everything to get him will be rebuilding too. I know that he wants to go play with KD and Kyrie but Brooklyn would be out of their minds to give up three first round picks and other assets for a cat that they don’t need. Sure, he scores a ton of points but unless the Rockets can get either KD or Kyrie in the trade they would be crazy to even talk to Houston. Brooklyn has nothing else to offer them but either of those two and first round picks. They aren’t giving KD or Kyrie up. Now I do believe that Harden would be a better match for KD than Kyrie but I don’t see them trading him until he starts his usual trippin’.
Kyrie is a great player but a terrible teammate. Nobody has been able to win with him but LeBron. He was a disaster in Cleveland without LeBron and dumpster fire in Boston. The only way Harden gets out of Houston is if Brooklyn is willing to trade Kyrie which they should but I doubt they’ve got to gonads to do.
Therefore, the Rockets are a DISASTER right now and will be for the next 3 or 4 years because Kyrie isn’t going anywhere, at least for now. Houston’s window has closed and now they’re stuck like Chuck. The Lakers, Golden State and the Clippers, well…if they can figure out who’s going to be their leader and then lead them, are sitting atop the West. The Rockets are just another team right now that have two cats that don’t want to be there. A DISASTER!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
