No.1 Center Grove has EVERY right to be salty traveling to Ben Davis on Friday night 12-0! “Screamin’!”

If you’ve kept up with TheJayGravesReport for any length of time. One thing you know about my opinion is that I’m consistent and fair. Every year at about this same time I stand up on a chair and go off about the Class playoffs and how the IHSAA should be ashamed of themselves for not seeding the tournament. Why aren’t the schools seeded based on wins and losses?

I’ve been screaming this same foolishness since I start covering high school sports in the area. I’ve always covered the NBA, college football, and basketball. When the playoffs start the team with the better record is seeded higher than the team with the worse record.

However, the ISHAA is telling boyz that is makes sense to do a “Blind Draw.” For that reason the No.1 team in the state and one of the best team in the COUNTRY, Center Grove, who is 12-0, is traveling to Ben Davis this week to play the semi-state game.

Ben Davis, who is 7-5, is hosting the semi-state!!! Are you kidding me? Why isn’t this game being played at Ray Skillman on Friday night? As a matter of fact, why did Carmel have to travel to Ben Davis last week to play Ben Davis?

I don’t want to hear that you don’t like Carmel because they’ve always gotten an easy path to the state title game by playing up north in the playoffs. Right is right playa! If they’ve got a better record than the team they’re playing then they should be playing at the crib.

I’ve said the same thing for years. Remember when Ben Davis was beating the brakes off of everybody and their cousin Man-Man back in 2017? I was screaming then. Remember when BD and Warren Central were No.1 and No.2 and played early in the playoffs? I was screaming then too. So I’m screaming now! Center Grove should not be traveling when they’ve earned the right to play at the crib by winning EVERY single game on the schedule in blowout fashion. Cathedral was the only team to move into the same zip code of them, only losing by 4 points 17-13.

The Trojans are averaging 41 points per game and it hasn’t even been close. They should be salty having to drive over to BD on Friday night!
