I saw a post on the “Open Court” Facebook page yesterday that boyz were literally trying to argue with. It read “IDC what’s y’all say. LeBron created a market for Rondo, Dwight and KCP. This dude revives careers like the undertaker.”
What this guy said was at least 50 percent true because an undertaker doesn’t revive bodies. He prepares them for burial. What he should have said was, “Dude revives careers like a first responder.”
However, the first part of the statement was spot on. Duns hate LeBron so much that they can’t give him credit for simply doing what he does.
He’s not only the MVP on the court every single year but he’s the MVP off of it too. He’s resurrected more careers than any other player in history. Not only that, he creates a market for duns to get bread they never would have gotten at this point in their careers.
Sure, Rondo was an NBA champion already. Dwight Howard was a 8-time NBA All-Star and 5-time All-NBA selection, 3-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, he led the league in rebounding 5-times etc. With all of that on their resumes, at this point in their careers nobody wanted them. That’s why they were available when the Lakers came calling and they both signed for veteran’s minimums.
Rondo only made $2.5 million and Dwight made $2.6 million even with all of that on their resumes. The casual fan didn’t even know who Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was until this year even though he’d been a first round pick and had been in the league for 7 years.
After one season of playing with LeBron they all are about to get stupid money on the open market. Pope was already making $8 million with the Lakers but now that number is about to darn near double.
Rondo and Dwight’s careers were over and now they’ll get so much bread offered to them on the open market it’ll extend their careers another 3 or 4 years just like LeBron did D Wade, JR Smith and Ima Shumpert’s careers.
Please don’t try to argue that LeBron didn’t extend D Wade’s career. When he got to Miami Wade’s knees were bout shot. Then all of a sudden ole boy didn’t have to carry the load every night and was able to continue playing and getting big checks even after LeBron left and went back to Cleveland. Don’t act like you didn’t see that. D Wade was able to play another 8 years because of LeBron. Stop it.
Most cats love to forget that the Knicks literally gave JR Smith and Iman Shumpert away for FREE and he won a championship with them. In December of 2015 the Knicks traded both Smith and Shumpert to the Cavs for a second round pick in 2019. That means that they gave them two players at the time for a dun that was still in high school.
The Knicks drafted Kyle Guy out of Virginia with the 2019 second round pick and then traded him on draft night to the Kings for Ignas Brazdeikis. Ole boy averaged 1.9 points, .6 rebounds and .4 assists for the Knicks this year. That’s what they traded both JR Smith and Iman Shumpert for.
And please don’t act like y’all forget that after getting JR for a bag of Funyuns and some penny cookies in less than 7 months LeBron got the dun $52 million!! Oh, and didn’t JR win another title this year fooling with LeBron? But y’all want to argue that he isn’t ressurecting careers? Stop with this foolishness.
