For years the Alabama Crimson Tide has been able to hustle college football into making the playoff by playing ABSOLUTELY NOBODY until the LSU game. Typically LSU comes in with a great defense but they’ll have a quarterback that isn’t worth two dead flies smashed but not this year playa.
So early this season, I told everybody that would listen that Joe Burrow would be the difference in LSU knocking Bama off. Why? Because LSU finally had a quarterback that could stretch the field. Alabama’s defense is never as good as advertised. That’s why the Tigers put 46 points on the board on the road to knock them off 46-41.
Alabama only plays one game a year during the regular season and that’s LSU. It’s not until they make the SEC title game and the playoff that real teams line up in front of them.
By the time their in the playoffs it’s easy to roll in when you’ve played NOBODY all season and can compete for a title because then you’re relatively healthy. When you’re playing Charleston, East Carolina, The Citadel and Boo Boo State in your non-conference schedule along with the SEC West as they usually do, it’s a cake walk.
However, LSU finally had something for that anus this year. A quarterback!!! Isn’t it funny that when Bama lines up and plays real football teams they lose? They wouldn’t be competing for national titles every year if they played a normal home and away non-conference schedule against other Power 5 schools during the non conference schedule.
They start the season off every year playing someone on a neutral site in either Atlanta or Dallas. This year they chose ole dull Duke to beat up on and they hadn’t played a real game since. LSU shows up with a quarterback and they’re getting embarrassed at the crib in the first half. They finally make a game out of it but still take the “L.”
Stop hollerin’ Roll Tide until they start rolling into real football schools and playing them during the regular season. Go up to Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Michigan or even Notre Dame for crying out loud. At the minimum play Wisconsin or somebody.
Remember when LSU decided to finally go to Wisconsin a couple of seasons ago and got popped? That’s what happens when you play on the road in hostile environments but Bama refuses to do that. That’s why everybody and their baby’s momma is excited this morning that they got beat on Saturday night. Stop me when I start lyin’!
