The Jay Graves Report

T.Y. Hilton and Andrew Luck take advantage of Colts defense finally comin’ to work! “Ante Up”

"Get off me bruh!"

Og Mandino, the author, once said, “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” Isaac Newton gave it to us like this, “We build too many walls and not enough bridges.” Then Johann Wolfgang von Goethe put it where the goats could get it when he spit, “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.”

Well playas…the Indianapolis Colts defense did just enough on Sunday for Andrew Luck and Co. to get out of the joint with a “W.” With his offensive line bein’ a complete mess and the defense bein’ banged up for the past two weeks it’s been darn near impossible for Luck to have room to breathe or think. However, with boyz doin’ enough to only give up 22 points Luck hit T.Y. Hilton on a 63 yard touchdown pass to beat San Diego by 4 points scorin’ only 26 points. Yes the Colts actually won scorin’ 26 points bruh!!!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! After two hard to watch weeks it looked like Andrew Luck would have to play the PERFECT game just for these cats to have a chance at winnin’ anything this year. As bad as the offensive line and defense looked they weren’t goin’ to win a freakin’ coin toss bruh. The defense finally got off of the bus to some degree this Sunday. They held the Chargers to only 37 yards rushin’ which was a huge difference maker. When you can’t run the ball you can’t hold on to the rock. The Colts had over 5 minutes more in Time of Possession than the Chargers. That simply means more opportunities to score.

Don’t get it twisted, Philip Rivers was still able to do some damage to the Colts secondary with 330 yards but he didn’t throw any touchdowns.

Andrew Luck was still out there runnin’ for his darn life all day but he was able to put good numbers with 331 yards passin’ with a touchdown and a dull pick. They’re only good numbers because they won the freakin’ game bruh! If they had loss the joint I’d be tellin’ you how he ran for his life all night and they couldn’t run the football. This game marks the 53rd straight ball game that they haven’t rushed for 100 yards. Even in a win that’s still a problem. Why? Because against better teams it will come back to haunt them.

As for today, boyz will take the “W”  because by winnin’ in Week 3 they’ve avoided goin’ 0-3. Why is that important? Because since the league went to the current playoff format in 1990 only 5 teams have made the playoffs after startin’ 0-3.

Boyz need to go ahead, ante up and take ole T.Y. out to dinner for his production on Sunday. Ole boy finished with 8 catches for 174 yards with 6 of those joints comin’ in the second half for 131 of those yards includin’ the game winner. While you’re at it, take Andrew out too. With that game winnin’ TD that was his 15th career game winnin’ drive in the fourth quarter or overtime.

It’s still gonna be a long season watchin’ these duns but we’ve gotta take them one game at a time. Hopefully they can figure out a way to protect Luck long enough for him to get rid of the football and make plays. Boyz need to pray that the defense can keep a boy from scorin’ 30 plus points every night. As a matter of fact, you may need to knock on Jesus’ front door, cut his grass and wash his car too for that one to go through. I’m just sayin’! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Spit: verb – to say

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its REAL talk!
