In the famous words of the homie Schoolly D, “Lookin’ At My Gucci It’s About That Time!!!” We’ve finally arrived at the NBA Playoffs. Something that I thought we weren’t going to see. The NBA literally pulled off what I thought was impossible. They completed the season in the Bubble without a positive test for COVID-19. Well…there were two cats that tried to blow it up but were unsuccessful. Richaun Holmes ran out for take out and Sweet Lou Williams ran out to Magic City for the wings. Both were quarantined for 10 days each for their foolishness.
The playoffs officially start on Monday and it’ll be Chris Brown up in that piece, “On and Poppin’!” However, before then we’ve got to sit through some foolishness for the next two days and watch the Western Conference “play-in” games. The winner between Portland and Memphis will advance to play the No.1 seed in the West, the LA Lakers.
For the past week all we’ve heard about is “Dame Time” and how red hot this cat is. For kicks and giggles some analysts and writers covering the NBA seem to have lost their minds or are simply acting like they’re brand new to this.
Duns are literally asking the question with some making the prediction that Portland is going to give the Lakers problems and several of these cats predicting the Lakers to fall to the Trailblazers. WHAT!!!?
Now the Lakers have their share of problems and sure, they aren’t playing their best basketball going into the playoffs. However, they are the No.1 seed in the West and Portland is, well…Portland. They’re playing in the “play-in” game on Saturday just to get into the playoffs. Stop with this foolishness!!!!
They could lose this play-in scenario and be at home this weekend bruh!!! And please stop with the “It’s Dame Time” foolishness. He’s red hot because most teams stop playing basketball darn near a week ago because they’d locked in their seeding for the playoffs.
Stop acting like y’all don’t know how this thing works. These are PROFESSIONAL athletes that understand fully well what the end game is. Boys are saving their bodies for the PLAYOFFS. They were playing but it wasn’t at the same level and Dame knows that. However, he’s talking a $100 worth of noise just to hype himself up.
Why on earth do you think that the Suns were able to go 8-0 in the Bubble? They were the ONLY team to go undefeated while at Disney World. It’s because they weren’t important to most cats that were already in the playoffs that they played. They didn’t lose a game in the bubble and are back at home right now.
So if you think that Portland is going to show up as the No.8 seed in the West, “If” they beat Ja Morant and Co. from Memphis, and beat the best team in the conference you’re smoking crack and eating mushrooms.
Dame Dollar is out there by himself and he’s not LeBron. LeBron is the only cat in the history of the NBA that can literally put any team on his back and plow through the playoffs. He may not be able to win the title by himself but he can sure as heck make it interesting by himself.
There is a reason why Portland is playing in the play-in game this weekend playa. They aren’t that good even with Dame Dollar. Boyz aren’t about to let him just go NUTS and shoot from anywhere on the floor in the PLAYOFFS and he’s the only threat on the floor.
This ain’t Golden State and Steph launching threes on boyz. The reason Steph is so dangerous is because he’s, well…Steph. Not to mention, he’s got multiple shooters on the floor with him that you’ve got to account for at all times. So you can’t just double team him.
Who does Dame have on the floor that boyz have to worry about? I’m listenin’! Stop repeating foolishness just because some dun on TV said it and it sounded good. Stop me when I start lyin’!
