Response to the Baltimore Sun’s letter to Lamar Jackson about gifting his O-linemen Rolexes! “Get You Some Business”

It literally blows my mind that folks have the nerve to try to tell other folks how to spend their bread. Lamar Jackson just recently gifted his offensive line Rolexes. This is something that quarterbacks and running backs in the NFL have been doing since the beginning of professional football time.

Russell Wilson just recently bought his O-line $13,000 worth of Amazon Stock. This is common for quarterbacks to do because the linemen protect them and allow them to make the money (HUGE contracts) that they eventually make.

Karen Price of the Baltimore Sun had the audacity to write a letter in the newspaper to Lamar Jackson voicing her displeasure of him spending his money on his teammates. Here’s what she wrote believe it or not.

“The holiday season was in full swing, with high hopes for the Ravens, when I read that Lamar Jackson gifted Rolexes to his offensive line. So disappointing that in an age where professional athletes are making an insane amount of money he couldn’t have donated to charities — and done it in the name of his offensive line — then treated his teammates to dinner. Those players can all afford their own Rolexes, so it is very discouraging that someone didn’t give him a little guidance. It just flaunts the amount of money they make and don’t know what to do with. Sorry, Lamar, I am not such a big fan now.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! You can’t tell a man how to spend his bread. You get a check every week or two and nobody’s telling you what to buy or not. So how on earth do you get to tell him that he should have given money to a charity in the name of his offensive line? Who are you?

Here’s the difference between you and Lamar Jackson. He’s got enough bread to buy those Rolexes and give money to charity as well. You just don’t get to tell him how to do what he’s doing. How dare you think that you’ve got the right to tell him where to spend his money? That’s crazy.

Then she finishes the letter by saying “I am not such a big fan now.” Do you really think that Lamar Jackson cares if you are a fan of his or not? Really? He’s going to get the same check whether you like him or not.

I’m going to say what we used to say back when I was growing up in The G (Gary, Indiana) “You need to get you some business.” Stop me when I start lyin’!
