Potential high 1st round picks staying in school instead of entering the NFL draft makes absolutely no sense! “Get Ya Money Mane”

Now that the college football season is officially over for most teams we’re starting to see cats announcing that they are either staying in school or foregoing their senior year to enter the NFL draft.

We just saw where Ohio State running back and leading rusher, J.K. Dobbins, announced that he was dippin’, which only makes sense. We’ve seen others giving their respective universities the high sign too.

However, there have been several cats opting to stay in school even though they are projected first round picks. We saw one of Florida State’s finest, Marvin Wilson decide to stay in school to help new head coach Mike Norvell turn the ship around despite being ranked No. 25 on Mike Kiper’s Big Board and he’s the No.3 defensive end coming out.

We also saw Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses announce on Instagram that he was coming back despite missing the entire 2019 season with a knee injury in August.

Ole boy was ranked No. 13 on Mel Kiper’s preseason Big Board as well. He was the No. 1-rated inside linebacker in the 2020 draft class before Monday’s announcement that he would be staying at Bama. Here’s what he wrote on Instagram:

“Football is not who I am. It is what I do. Life after football is what I am most concerned about, and I want to ensure I can put myself in the best possible situation to succeed in life, fulfill my goals and make my dreams come true.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I know that it sounds good for all the folks that really don’t understand how this works. It’s great that these kids are opting to stay in school because education is the key etc.

However, they are literally rolling the dice. School isn’t going anywhere bruh. School has been around for 2,000 years and it’ll be there long after their playing careers are over. They’re playing a collision sport where on any given play their careers could be over.

Heck, Dylan Moses just missed the entire 2019 season with a knee injury. If nothing else he understands how fragile his playing career can be. So why not take the bread now and finish school in the offseason?

I’m not saying that getting an education isn’t important because it is. I’ve got a college degree along with my wife, child, four of my siblings and both of my parents. So having an education is of major importance. However, none of us had the ability to make millions playing a game.

Let me put it where the goats can get it. These cats will make more money on a rookie first round contract than most people will make in their lifetime. So why not take the bread and then go back to school if getting a degree is important?

When someone has the ability to make a fortune using their God given talent you’d be crazy to tell them not to. If your kid was one of the best violin players in the world and the New York Symphony Orchestra came calling and offered him $3 million to join them instead of going straight to college. What would you tell them to do? Go to college? That would be ignorant and crazy.

The opportunity is only going to be there for a hot minute. School will always be there. Make the money first and who knows it may open more doors within that industry if not go back to school.

Again, don’t try to tell me that because they didn’t finish college that they’ll be irresponsible with their bread because I know folks with degrees with bad credit and broke.

Not everybody has to have a degree to be successful. There are a ton of folks using their God given talent to make a living. We’ve got plumbers, electricians, carpenters, beauticians etc. that didn’t go to college. They are doing just fine without a “degree.”

I say “make ya money mane” and if you want to go back to school after you finish playing then by all means do so but I would never encourage someone to stay in school instead of making millions of dollars.

I graduated from Indiana University 30 years ago. These young cats coming out of school entering the draft this year will make more money than I’ve made in 30 years in Corporate America in their first 3 years in the league.

That’s a no brainer!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
