TheJayGravesReport College Football Top 10 looks completely different than the AP Top 10! “Let’s Go!”

As always I’m watching the AP Poll develop and I see the same foolishness every year. Until the top SEC teams lose a game they’ll rank them higher than everybody else even if they’ve yet to play a freaking game. Then there’s the usual Ohio State bias too. As I scan the AP Top 25 this morning I see that the Oklahoma Sooners with Jalen Hurts blasting EVERYBODY and their baby’s momma, Uncle Leroy and cousin Man-Man are sitting at No.6. WHAT!!?

Sure, nobody’s really played anybody yet including OU. However, Jalen Hurts is clearly the front runner in the Heisman watch right now. It’s not even close. What he’s done through five weeks is crazy. He’s completed 77 percent of his passes for 1,295 yards and 12 touchdowns and only 1 interception. He’s got another 443 yards on the ground and 5 more touchdowns and you’re telling me that Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ohio State are playing better than the Sooners? Clemson isn’t playing better but they’re the defending champs so I give them a pass.

On some real talk they’re playing better than everyone in America at this point. Again, I completely understand why Clemson would be ranked higher than them right now. They haven’t loss yet and they are the defending national champs. They are the No.1 team until they get knocked off. North Carolina almost got them on Saturday but almost isn’t good enough.

But please tell me how Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ohio State are playing better than the Sooners right now? Again, NOBODY is playing better than them and they’re ranked No.6. That’s crazy to me. Stop ranking teams based on recent reputation because by doing so the same teams will always be at the top of the pile.

If we’re going to keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st and rank the Top 10 as it should be then here’s how it should look. No.1 Clemson (only because they’re the defending champ), No.2 Oklahoma (offense is nuts with Jalen Hurts), No.3 Ohio State (scoring crazy points), No.4 Georgia (deadly run game), No.5 Alabama (plays nobody until Week 9 LSU), No.6 Wisconsin (Jonathan Taylor ground game is NUTS), No.7 LSU (finally have a QB that can stretch the field), No.8 Notre Dame (played at Georgia and held their own), No.9 Florida (may be better than expected) and No.10 Texas (still capable of beating OU). I never believe in Auburn because they’ll wet the bed in the Iron Bowl EVERY year and stumble somewhere else. Can’t put them in the Top 10 at all.

It’s still early and this poll with change dramatically over the next few weeks but this is how I look at it right now. Let’s GO!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
