As we get closer to the finish line boyz are going to start falling off and one has already bit the dust. The Oklahoma Sooners ran up to Kansas State and got snake bitten 48-41 and the score wasn’t indicative of the beat down they took at the hands of the Wildcats. Therefore, a terrible loss like that to an unranked opponent knocks them out of the Top 4 until other boyz start to fall off too.
So now the Top 4 looks different…at least for now. LSU is still my No.1 team as they have been for the past month because of the play of quarterback Joe Burrow. The Tigers got rid of Auburn over the weekend 23-20. They’ve always had a defense so with the play of Burrow they are now positioned to run the table and yes, that includes knocking off Alabama in a couple of weeks.
No.2 is Ohio State!!! What else do you want me to say? They’re still blasting boyz with the largest margin of victory than anyone else in America.
Clemson comes in at No.3 because they’re still rolling under Dabo Swinney. Playing in the ACC they’re probably not going to lose to anyone. They’ve got the best chance of running the table as anyone playing right now. Well…unless they completely wet the bed somewhere. They’ve got the best chance of finishing the season ranked No.1 going into the playoff because they’ll be undefeated.
Alabama rounds out the Top 4 at No.4. However, they won’t be sitting there very long. LSU is going to get them when they show up in two weeks whether Tua is healthy or not. Joe Burrow has these boyz hummin’.
There’s still a lot of football to be played and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season. Let’s look at some possible foolishness that can occur. If LSU knocks off Bama and gets to the SEC title game and lose to let’s say Florida or Georgia whichever of those teams makes it to the conference title game. The winner of the SEC gets in and you already know that these fake media-types will try to put the loser of the SEC title in too. Especially, if everybody’s sitting there with one loss.
Even if OU wins the Big 12, that Kansas State loss is a terrible loss. That will keep them out and rightfully so. The Big Ten is crazy right now and anything could happen. Ohio State and Penn are still undefeated right now. Heck, Minnesota is still undefeated too but nobody thinks that the Golden Gophers will be standing when the dust settles. If nothing else the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions still have to play this regular season because they’re on the same side of the fence. Minnesota will get blasted by one of the two if they make it to the Big Ten title game.
It should be interesting to watch because it ain’t over ’til it’s over. Stop me when I start lyin’!
