LeBron continues to use his platform to inspire others to be great. “Everybody Can’t Shoot Hoop”

LeBron hosts 2020 Graduation during the Coronavirus pandemic.

For those of us that have walked across the stage for graduation after working our butts off at any level of education was a great moment. To finally see the finish line after studying to show thyself approved was the pinnacle of the accomplishment.

Well…the Class of 2020 didn’t get the physical opportunity to do that because of the current Coronavirus pandemic. There are a lot of students and families of those students that are struggling with the idea of never walking or getting to see their loved ones walk cross the finish line, in a physical sense.

On Saturday LeBron James put on his community hat to inspire our 2020 graduates. Along with his LeBron James Family Foundation in conjunction with the XQ Institute and the Entertainment Industry Foundation he did America well.

The basketball superstar not only put the event together but he hosted it as well. The event aired on all of the major networks, on streaming services and social media as well. Put it like this, you had to be under a rock on Saturday night NOT to know it was on.

LeBron opened the broadcast saying this to the Class of 2020, “You should’ve had a real graduation, I know. You should’ve had an incredible senior year, I know that as well. But you made a sacrifice, and you did it to keep your community safe and healthy.”

Not only did he use is power of influence to put the event together but he got President Barack Obama to speak. That’s called using the power of influence you’ve been blessed with to make a difference in others lives.

He closed out the event with these poignent words “Our school are our safety net. Our people build our communities. To the class of 2020, as you celebrate tonight, do not forget your safety net. Every teacher, every coach, every pastor, they along with your friends and family got you to this moment. And now, it’s time to go to a new place.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! LeBron doesn’t have a kid graduating this year. He could have easily kept minding his own business and done nothing and nobody would have batted an eye right?

However, it’s not about just his kids. It’s about all people that are trying to better their lives. He’s already doing crazy work by using his influence and money to lift up the children of America and especially those from the same types of hood he grew up in. He founded the I Promise School to help at-risk youth in 2018 in Akron, Ohio and he’s still working.

And yet there are tons of cats in hoods across America that look just like him that hate him. Literally! I’ll never understand how we continue to be brainwashed to the point that we hate ourselves even in 2020. Salute to LeBron for caring about inspiring people to become more than what they currently are. Everybody can’t shoot hoop but they can still be great. Stop me when I start lyin’!
