Lakers advance but they’ll need consistent shooters and a healthy Rondo to beat better teams. “Asking a Lot”

THE BUBBLE — Just before the playoffs began everybody and their Uncle LeRoy and cousin Man-Man were butt naked foamin’ at the mouth talking crazy about Portland’s chances of beating the Lakers. Well…5 games later the reality of them being what they were has been proven.

They blew every bit of the wad they had in Game 1 and loss four straight to go fishing. And please don’t say that if Dame hadn’t gotten hurt they would have won the series. If Dame hadn’t gotten hurt they would have still loss the series. They may have won two games but the best team 99.999 percent of the time wins the series.

The only other time in NBA history where the best team didn’t win the series is when the greatest player walking put Cleveland on his back and led the Cavs to the title. The Philistine, LeBron James, led BOTH teams in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals to come back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the 73-9 Golden State Warriors. Outside of that it’s never been done before.

Portland was Portland and was going to be Portland regardless of how good Dame was playing before the playoffs started.

Now we can move on with the playoffs without this foolishness being a distraction to real basketball fans. The best team wins a 7 game series 99.999 percent of the time.

Do I think that the Lakers will get to and win the Finals? It’s going to be difficult because they’ve got no consistent shooters and they’re definitely going to need Rondo as they matchup with better teams. But he’s still snake bitten right now. They could win it all but both LeBron and A.D. would have to score 70 points between them most nights and literally carry the entire squad if their shooters don’t show up. That’s a lot to ask of them every night.

The West is no joke and teams will be coming for the No.1 seed especially the Clippers. So it’ll be interesting to see it all play out but please miss me with the Portland foolishness for once and for all. They had no shot of winning that series. They won 35 games all season. They weren’t capable of winning 4 games in 12 or 13 days. Stop me when I start lyin’!
