Marcus Morris Sr. was on that foolishness trying to hurt Luka Doncic! “Wannabe Gangsta”

LA Clippers forward Marcus Morris Sr. was ejected in the first quarter of Sunday’s Game 6 for trying to be a gangsta. He committed a Flagrant Foul 2 against Dallas’ Luka Doncic with 1:07 remaining in the opening period of their win to advance. As Doncic was going to the rack, Morris swiped and slapped him on the head causing Doncic to hit the floor hard. Then ole boy glared at him while he was down.

Doncic jumped up to defend himself but the coaches and officials weren’t having it. They separated the two and Morris was sent to the showers early with an ejection.

When interviewed after the game the former Kansas star had this to say, “It’ was a hard foul” and he understood that he got Doncic above the shoulders, which deserves a flagrant 2. However, he said that he was not trying to hurt Doncic.

Hold on a second dawg. You slapped ole boy in the head hard enough to send him to the floor but you weren’t trying to hurt him? C’mon playa!

He goes on to say that he thought it was “absurd” that some thought he was trying to injure Doncic in Game 5, when he stepped on ole boy’s left ankle, which led to Doncic’s shoe coming off.

“They had to make that call. I think, honestly, we had a lot of back-and-forth this series. It was a hard-fought series. I just don’t want people to mistake playing basketball, playing hard with trying to hurt somebody. I think Tim Hardaway had an extremely hard foul with [Paul George] last game, and it wasn’t taken in [the same context].”

Really dude? It’s called having a reputation of trying to be a gangster on the floor. He and his brother both have been on that foolishness since they were at Kansas. This isn’t the 1980’s NBA. They outlawed that type of foolishness years ago. You can’t take a boy’s head off and keep playing. He’s been watching too many Celtics/Lakers games from the 1980’s on Youtube.

I know that cats love that type of foolishness and want to call today’s players soft because they aren’t fighting and tearing each other’s heads off but that was never basketball in the first place.

Now if you want to be a gangsta be a gangsta but this ain’t that. And yes, he was trying to hurt Doncic in both Game 5 and Game 6. There’s no question about it. I’m happy that the NBA has outlawed that type of behavior because it’s not basketball. Players make way too much bread to risk their careers with cats on the floor trying to intentionally hurt other players. Stop me when I start lyin’!
