Kobe: “I like my rings the hard way.” When he had it the hard way he couldn’t get out of the first round! “Stop It!!!”

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times…these old head cats drive me crazy trying to act like these young boyz are getting things easy in this thing we call the NBA. During a recent appearance on Kristen Ledlow and Candace Parker’s podcast “Ledlow & Parker” they asked the dun “if a guaranteed championship would be enough to lure him out of retirement?”

First of all, it’s a dumb question because there was no more basketball left in Kobe when he decided to retire.  So if he jumped on a team now it would only be to ride in the back seat to get a championship. That’s why he retired!! Let’s put that on the table first.

Secondly, it’s a lame question because there was no reasonable way to answer it because to say yes would make him look as silly as KD joining the Golden State Warriors after having them down 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals, losing to them and getting in the car with them to win two titles.

Kobe would look thirsty and grimy if he even thought about it. However, the answer that he gave was just as bad because he tried to act like he’s got amnesia or something. Here’s what he said, “No. No. No. No no no! I like my rings the hard way. I like fighting for them and earning them. I don’t like jumping to the easier route, so I wouldn’t take it.”

Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Did that dun really say that? The same Kobe Bryant that was screaming and begging to be traded to the Bulls in 2007 after he couldn’t make the playoffs in 2004-’05 and then couldn’t get out of the first round of the playoffs for next two consecutive seasons after Shaq went to Miami? We’re still talking about the same cat right?

He was trying his best to leave a bad situation but he was under contract and the Lakers weren’t crazy enough to let him go. This is the same person that refused to shoot the ball in the second half of a playoff game to make a point that he wanted out. They finally brought in Pau Gasol and cats like Andrew Bynum to play with Lamar Odom and the won two more titles. They made it easier for him not harder.

The first three were won with Shaq!!! What is he talking about “the hard way?” When he had it the hard way he couldn’t get out of the first round. Stop it!!!

These cats want to act like we weren’t grown men watching this foolishness play out. Are you kidding me? All of the rest of these media-types will literally stand around and let this cat say that foolishness but not Jay Graves. Stop me when I start lyin’!
