J.K. Dobbins runs wild on IU as No.6 Ohio State puts up more than a half a hundred! “Brakes and Doors”

OSU's J.K. Dobbins puts in work against IU finishing with 193 yards in their 51-10 blasting of the Hoosiers.

BLOOMINGTON — Both Indiana and Ohio State came into Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon with perfect 2-0 records. It looked good on paper but trust me playa, these were two entirely different ball clubs. One was 2-0 using smoke and mirrors and the other was 2-0 by being outright better than most teams. When the smoke cleared, The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the brakes, doors, transmission and back seats off of the Hoosiers 51-10.

It looked like IU was going to at least give us something to cheer about in the first quarter. When they bucked up to the boyz from Ohio State. They went three and out of their first possession and Ohio State took the ensuing possession and stuffed it right down the Hoosiers throats getting into the red zone. However, Indiana’s defense stepped up big forcing them into a 33-yard Blake Haubeil field goal attempt in which he missed. Indiana dodged an early bullet and showed some fight early on.

However, it didn’t take long before the Buckeyes hit pay dirt. With 7:28 left in the first quarter Justin Fields scored on a 1 yard keeper to put Ohio State up 7-0. Indiana had -7 total yards up to that point.

Then the Hoosiers showed some resilience and started moving the football on their very next possession getting into the red zone on Peyton Ramsey’s arm and legs. They weren’t able to get seven out of it but three points is always good early on. IU’s Logan Justus connected on a 29-yard field goal to make it 7-3 Buckeyes with 3:45 left in the first quarter. That drive alone the Hoosiers picked up 59 yards giving them some confidence. It looked as though we had a game right?

Indiana was able to hold onto the knot at the end of the rope to get out of the first quarter down only 7-3.

At the 11:26 mark of the second quarter OSU’s Justin Fields hit Chris Olave on a 37-yard dart down the middle of the field to go up 14-3 as they made it look easy.

Then all of a sudden the wheels started to fall off for IU as Ohio State blocked an IU punt in the Hoosiers end zone where they recovered it resulting in a safety with 10:15 left in the half to go up 16-3.

On the very next Buckeye possession J.K. Dobbins pops one for 56 yards just to let boyz know that he was in the building. Three plays later they extended the lead to 23-3 on a Justin Fields  9-yard touchdown pass to K.J. Hill with 8:30 left in the half. They covered 75 yards in 9 plays!!

Well playas…the doors we’re officially being blown off right before our eyes and there was nothing anybody could do about it. When a boy is flat out better than you it is what it is.  I had hoped that the Hoosiers could at least hang around for two quarters but that wasn’t the case on Saturday. The knot came loose and everybody fell off of the wagon in the middle of the street.

J.K. Dobbins just started carrying IU defenders around on his back running down the field as he popped a 26-yard touchdown to put the Buckeyes up 30-3 with 4:09 left to play in the first half. Dobbins had 17 carries for 149 yards in the first half alone. He finished the day with 22 carries for 193 yards and a touchdown.

The Hoosiers got desperate right before the break and pulled the trick play out of the bag with a lateral from Peyton Mamsey to Donavan Hale who then threw it to wide open tight end Peyton Hendershot for a 49-yard touchdown to make it 30-10 with 3:02 left in the first half.

The Hoosiers went into the break down 30-10 hoping that “it was all a dream” like Biggie said in Juicy but it wasn’t. Ohio State came out of the break and went right back to work scoring on their opening possession and the entire car that IU was riding in just fell apart on Kirkwood. It was 51-10 before I could bite into my hot dog and that’s all she wrote. Stop me when I start lyin’!
