FINALLY the Finals!! LeBron down plays the match up against his former team but we all know better! Lakers in 5!

It’s game time playas!!!! The NBA FINALS start tonight with the Los Angeles Lakers booting up against the Miami Heat!!! It’s been a long time coming seeing that this current season officially started darn near a year ago.

After having to take a break because of the pandemic and then resurfacing inside of the Bubble we’re finally seeing the championship round. Unbelievable!!!

LeBron James will be facing his former team in the Heat but the 4-time MVP and 3-time NBA champ isn’t putting any additional meaning into who it’s against.

“It’s no extra meaning to winning a championship, no matter who you’re playing against,” James said Tuesday at NBA Finals media day. “It’s already hard enough to even reach the Finals, to be in this position. If you’re able to become victorious out of the Finals, it doesn’t matter who it’s against.”

Yeah playa, tell us what you want us to hear but we aren’t crazy. There is always additional storylines and things that motivate players even if they aren’t necessarily true. We all know that you don’t need additional motivation to win a championship once you’re playing for one. However, players find things to get amped about anyway.

Don’t tell us that there’s not additional meaning because he and Pat Riley fell out after he left. Somebody from the Heat organization, we don’t know who, actually told him that when he left South Beach he was making the biggest mistake of his life.

Any competitor worth his weight is using those words as motivators to prove a point. Sure, LeBron is a master at handling the media because I’ve had the privilege of interviewing him on several occasions. He gives you just enough without creating additional headlines and distractions for himself.

But please don’t tell a boy that it’s just another team and the championship is enough motivation for you. We all know that the championship is motivation enough but to play the duns you used to play for is additional heat.

Because of that heat the Miami Heat will be lucky to win one game in this series. Lakers in 5. In my Terrell Owens voice, “Get Ya Popcorn Ready!”
