Don’t even try to hate on Notre Dame for doing work on then No.1 Clemson without Trevor Lawrence. “The Back Up was Better”

The Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish are the No.2 team in the country after knocking off then No.1 and undefeated, on a 36-game winning streak, Clemson, in double-overtime 47-40!!!! NUTS!!! The Irish finally has the big signature win under their belts and walking into club like “What?” on Saturday night!

Miss me with the “They wouldn’t have won if Trevor Lawrence were playing BS!” because his backup, D.J. Uiagalelei, put up an all-time program high 439 yards and two touchdowns!! So don’t even try that foolishness this morning. He was better than Lawrence has EVER been.

And will somebody please explain to me why Trevor Lawrence was even on the sideline on Saturday night? If he’s in the COVID-19 protocol isn’t he supposed to be in quarantine? I’m just asking for a rational human being but I digress.

Sure, Clemson was missing some guys on defense but who’s 100 percent at every position at any time during the course of the season. There are always guys missing. You play the games with the people you have available. Notre Dame showed up and you can’t hate on them for that.

Lawrence will get his shot at them again in the ACC title game at the end of the season. So one of them will advance to the College Football Playoff. Don’t trip…it’ll all get settled. But for now, give Notre Dame it’s props for puttin’ that thang on Clemson and knocking off the first No.1 team in the land at the crib since beating Florida State in 1992. PROPS!!!!

Brian Kelly had these boys ready to play and that they did. Ian Book “showed up and showed out” like my momma used to say. He kept the Clemson defense off balance all night by not only throwing the football all over the field for 310 yards but scrambling for another 68. Yessir!! Notre Dame put everybody and their baby’s momma on notice Saturday night! In my Bart Scott voice, “Can’t Wait” to see how it all plays out! Stop me when I start lyin’!
