David Griffin slams LeBron because he’s an underachiever! “Greatness is never easy to get along with!”

Y’all already know that I had to sit in the cut on Friday and watch the vultures circle the foolishness left in the middle of the road by current Pelicans general manager and former Cavs GM David Griffin. The dun did an interview with Sports Illustrated that was published on Thursday that simply blew the minds of all rational thinking human beings.

Ole boy had THEE nerve/audacity to say out of his own mouth using his own tongue and teeth that he was “miserable building around LeBron.”

Don’t let me make up words for this foolishness. Here’s exactly what he said, “Everything we did was so inorganic and unsustainable and, frankly, not fun. I was miserable. Literally the moment we won the championship, I knew I was gonna leave. There was no way I was gonna stay for any amount of money.”

Here’s the crazy thing about all of this. There were duns all over radio and television throwing gasoline on this ignorance in support of what this fool was saying. Not just local shows but national shows like Colin Cowherd. Now Colin wasn’t on Friday but whoever the clown was that was filling in for him was literally co-signing this foolishness.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The ONLY reason that we even know who David Griffin is, is because of LeBron James. The only reason David Griffin has a job making the bread he’s making today with a ring on his finger is because of LeBron James. Let’s be as clear as vodka on that playa.

So to say that he was miserable building around the greatest basketball player on the planet is absolutely asinine. LeBron was in Cleveland for four years and they went to four straight Finals winning one IN CLEVELAND bruh. He kept the organization on it’s toes because he wouldn’t sign a long term deal with them. Why? So they could never rest on their hustle in building around him. That was smart on his part.

He’s the very reason why players like Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard are signing one and two year deals with their respective teams now. The shorter the deal the more leverage the player keeps in his pocket.

But getting back to Griffin saying that he was miserable working with the greatest ALL-AROUND basketball player to ever live. LeBron’s no different than any great person in any field. He’s demanding and hard to work with. Most successful people are. If you didn’t already know that you’ve never worked with successful people.

Go ask boyz how easy it was to work with Steve Jobs? They’ll tell you the same thing while sitting on their yacht holding multimillions if not billions of dollars. Ask all of the assistant coaches at Alabama if it’s a walk in the park to work with Nick Saban? Ask boyz around Ohio State, Florida, Utah or Bowling Green if Urban Meyer was easy to get along with?

Ask Dickey Simpkins if Michael Jordan was easy to play with when he got to the Bulls or holler at Steve Blake if Kobe was cordial when he was with the Lakers? They all will tell you that they were miserable dealing with these people but they trusted the process.

So for a boy to run with the natural story line of hating on LeBron after winning a title to enhance his own resume for life is literally embarrassing. For David Griffin to say that he was miserable building the first championship in more than 50 years in a city and winning the first and only title of his career says more about him than it does about LeBron.

It tells me that he doesn’t have the temperment to win without being pushed by an overachiever. Now that he’s on his own without someone like LeBron he’s literally going to just show up to work and go through the motions. He’s going to allow that NBA title to be the ONLY thing on his resume for the rest of his career. He won’t accomplish another thing in his life because he doesn’t like being uncomfortable. Ole boy is done working and pushing himself out of his comfort zone and anybody that thinks what he said makes sense is an underachiever too. Stop me when I start lyin’!
