CFP Committee has put guard rails in place to get what “THEY” really want in the end! The Fix!”

From week to week the College Football Playoff committee is proving that it’s got an agenda and that agenda is to put the teams they want into the playoff. They want who they want and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Fortunately for them, it just may work itself out anyway but just in case they’ve put some guardrails in place to secure it.

All of this foolishness will eventually work itself out because many of the top teams still have to play each other in the next two or three weeks anyway. Georgia and Bama will meet in the SEC title game on Dec. 4 and Ohio State still has both Michigan State and Michigan on the board.

On Tuesday the Top 25 was released and the Top 4 finally makes sense because teams have now started to fall off.

  1. Georgia
  2. Alabama
  3. Oregon
  4. Ohio State

Those make all of the sense in the world at this point because outside of Georgia no one else in the Power 5 is still undefeated. Don’t you dare bring up Cincinnati playing that Roody Poot schedule in the American Athletic Conference. Stop it!

The problem comes in at No.’s 6 and 7. They’ve got Michigan ranked No.6 and Michigan State No.7 even though we all watched the Spartans beat the Wolverines heads up a few weeks ago. However, when the committee chairman, Gary Barta, was asked why that was the case. His response was that Michigan had a more complete team than Michigan State. Huh?

In the next breath he says that head to head matchups are important. That’s why Oregon remains ahead of Ohio State even though the Buckeyes are playing better football offensively than anyone in the country at this point. Oregon should be sitting ahead of them because they beat them. Just like Michigan State should be sitting in front of Michigan.

What they’re really saying is that they would rather have Michigan in the Playoff than Michigan State even if both of them were to beat the Buckeyes over the next two weeks. This is the foolishness that I’m always talking about. It never ceases to amaze me.

We already knew that Bama’s one loss wasn’t ever going to knock them out of the top 4. Even if Georgia knocks them off in the SEC title game to lease them with two losses the committee will try to justify keeping them in ahead of other Power 5 one-loss teams.

That’s why teams like Oklahoma is now ranked 13th. We all know that they’ll still win the Big 12 but now they’ve got no shot at making the playoff even with a conference title and a Bama second loss. Stop me when I start lyin’!
