The CFP poll is just as bogus as the AP. Boyz are ranking who they want to see play for a title. “Outside Looking In”

On Tuesday night the College Football Playoff rankings came out and they got three out of the four, of the Top 4 right. They had LSU No.1, Ohio State No.2, Clemson No.3 and then Georgia No.4. Let me stand on the roof and scream to the top of my lungs “STOP WITH THIS FOOLISHNESS!!”

This is not about who we think is the better team! It’s about who DESERVES to be in the Top 4 right now. It doesn’t matter how you feel or who you think is better at the end of the day. If the criteria that was presented at the beginning of all of this doesn’t count and the wins and loses don’t count. Then why are we doing this?

If the requirement to get into the freakin’ College Football Playoff was to be in a Power 5 Conference, look at strength of schedule and record and to literally run the table. Then why does it matter with some teams and not with others?

If you’re a big name blue blood program then the strength of schedule/record goes out of the window and you can play cupcakes at the crib and never play a true home and away against other Power 5 schools. You can even lose games and it not hurt you.

However, if you’ve got no reputation and you’re running the table with no blemishes on your record you can’t get into the Top 4 even during the season? Why is it that undefeated Minnesota, even after knocking off conference rival and then No.4 Penn State, is sitting at No.8 and undefeated Baylor is No.13?

Now they both are in Power 5 conferences and playing the same conference opponents that teams like Penn State and Oklahoma are playing. However, their undefeated record so far isn’t good enough for them to be sitting in the 4th and 5th spots in the ranking. Instead they’ve got one loss Georgia, Oregon and Utah in front of Minnesota.

Then they’ve got one loss Oklahoma who’s playing the exact same teams as Baylor is playing in front of Baylor who is undefeated and beat the very team, Kansas State, that beat OU earlier this season. Not only are the Sooners sitting in front of the Bears but they got teams with two losses sitting in front of them too. They got Auburn and Florida ahead of Baylor. This is foolishness!!!

And please don’t tell me that those teams are better than both Minnesota and Baylor. That’s not the argument bruh. I would completely agree with you that Minnesota nor Baylor are better than those teams but that’s not the point. We’re not hear to figure out who’s better. We’re here to figure out who deserves to play for a national championship. We’ve seen plenty of teams win national titles that weren’t the best team. However, in college football we’ll never see that because the powers that be will never allow a Baylor or Minnesota to compete for one.

If we’re ranking teams on the eye ball test and who we think is better every year then we may as well just pick the Top 4 after spring ball and not even play the regular season. Because the team with the best recruits is always going to be the best team. The team with the horses will 99.999 percent of the time be the better team. Baylor and Minnesota are never going to out recruit teams like Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State. So if that’s the case then stop trying to hustle folks by telling them that they have to run the table in a Power 5 conference and when they do they still can’t get in to compete for the title.

I know that it’s fluid and if they both continue to win out they’ll get in because Minnesota would have to knock off Ohio State and Baylor would have to beat Oklahoma. However, from week to week boys are making it harder for them to qualify by keeping duns like Alabama and Georgia hanging around the chicken coup. It’s foul is what it is.

On some real talk neither of those teams will get in because they aren’t better than the teams they’ll eventually have to play in Ohio State and Oklahoma. But they deserve to be ranked 4th and 5th today.

They shouldn’t be undefeated on the outside looking in. They should be on the inside looking out right now. Teams like Georgia with one loss should be on the outside looking in until Minnesota or Baylor or both lose. Stop me when I start lyin’!
