In my Schoolly D voice, “Lookin’ at my Gucci it’s about that time!!” The NBA season tips off tonight and it couldn’t have come around any sooner. The 2019-2020 season looks to be one of the most exciting hoops seasons we’ve seen in a long time. Well…that’s if boyz can stay healthy.
We’ve got crazy duos all over the league and for the first time in several years there is no clear cut favorite or is there? For the past few years Golden State, at least starting the season, looked to be the one but as we saw last season injuries took over the playoffs and Kawhi and Co. up NORTH won it all in Toronto. Nobody saw that coming not even the Raptors until the bottom fell out for the Warriors.
Now it’s a new day with the Clippers sitting on Kawhi and Paul George. The Lakers walk in with LeBron and Anthony Davis. Philly’s pulling up in the box Chevy with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and now Al Horford playing along side him. That’s going to be NUTS!!
Don’t sleep on Young Russ going to Houston to play with James Harden. I still don’t think that there are enough balls for those two to play together but it should be fun to watch at least until the All-Star break. At that point they’ll probably be at each other’s throats by then.
Don’t sleep on the Denver Nuggets sitting on the corner talking $100 worth of noise coming off of a 54 win season getting older and better. They picked up Paul Milsap’s option and extended Jamal Murray. Don’t sleep on Gary Harris either. If he stay’s healthy they could be somebody’s problem out west too. Did I forget to mention Portland? Well don’t sleep on them hollerin’ at your girl over their in the VIP. The Greek Freak and Milwaukee will be back for more too.
New Orleans and Toronto tip it all off tonight at 8pm. Boyz are just a little salty this morning because Zion Williamson is out for the next 6 to 8 week after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to treat a torn meniscus. So the hype that boyz were looking for tonight at 8pm will have to wait until 10:30pm eastern when the Lakers and Clippers tip it off.
So on some real talk, I’m going to take a nap this evening so that I can watch the ENTIRE game. Let’s Go!!!
You know I couldn’t get out of here without giving you a prediction on who’s going to be holding the trophy when it’s all said and done right? If boyz stay healthy the Lakers are going to run circles around the NBA this year. LeBron, even in his 17th season is still the best player breathing without question. I know that cats wanna act like he’s not who we thought he was because he was injured last season but he’s still the most talented player suiting up every night. The dun averaged 28-8-8 in his 16th season injured. If he’s healthy with a young AD it’s going to be ridiculous.
Now that he has Anthony Davis, the most skilled big on the planet, they’ll be unstoppable. Miss me with the Kawhi and PG combo because PG is still PG in the playoffs and at the end of games. Golden State is merely a shell of themselves now nobody else can match up with them because they’re so big and athletic. I’m just sayin’….HAPPY HOOP SEASON PLAYAS!!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
