As a graduate of Indiana University I’m always sitting on edge during the Old Oaken Bucket Weekend hoping the Hoosiers can pull out the 6th win of the season against our rival Purdue. If they’re close to becoming bowl eligible every 5 or 6 years or maybe every 8 to 10 years it typically comes down to beating the Boilermakers right?
Well…not this year playas. After the Hoosiers went on the road Saturday and knocked off the Maryland Terrapins they’re sitting on a 5-2 record under the direction of Tom Allen in mid October. They’re literally one win away from becoming bowl eligible and they’ve got five games left!!! That’s NUTS!!!!
Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Out of the five games left they’ve legitimately got a shot at winning three of them. They’ve got Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, Michigan and Purdue coming up. They can go to Nebraska and catch them sleeping. They can beat Northwestern at the crib and they could beat Purdue if they don’t fall asleep at the wheel.
However, Purdue’s going to be dangerous because Jack Plummer is getting better by the week and both Rondale Moore and David Bell could be a hand full if they both are healthy. I won’t be greedy as an alumnus. The Hoosiers just need one win. They could lose four out of the next five all I care. They just need ONE. They could catch ole dull Jim Harbaugh sleepin’ at the stop light all I care and lose the other games. Just get one more win. Stop me when I start lyin’!
