Why today’s players aren’t soft! The rules have just changed bruh! “What!!!?”

It blows my mind that old school cats always want to view the sports world through the lens of the way things used to be. Now don’t get it twisted, I’m officially an O.G. but I’m not stuck in the past like most of these cats I came up with.

They’re quick to say that boyz now days can’t hoop when players are far more talented than they’ve ever been. Players are bigger, stronger and faster than they’ve ever been and they can do far more on the court than ever before. They didn’t call players stretch threes or stretch fours years ago bruh. They just played the darn position with skill sets for that position only. A center kept his butt in the post and put the ball up when it was given to him. He never played on the perimeter or handled the rock etc. and he wouldn’t think of takin’ the joint coast to coast or shootin’ a three. Now days they can do it all.

However, the thing that drives me crazy is when duns try to say that players are soft today because they complain about a boy committin’ a hard unnecessary foul. On Wednesday night durin’ Game 2 of the Pacers/Cavs playoff series LeBron was carjacked in midair by Domantas Sabonis while goin’ up for layup.

One of the cats on my thread says, “Man 10 years ago that wasn’t a foul! Man he’s just bein’ soft!” WHAT!!!?? The dun could have seriously injured him had he come down wrong. The rules have changed bruh! And to even say somethin’ like that is ridiculous.

That’s like sayin’ that you’re not goin’ to pay your seatbelt fine because 30 years ago it wasn’t against the law. Or better yet, it’s like callin’ an infant soft because his mother can no longer smoke with him in the car with the windows rolled up. It’s sound ignorant.

In all sports the rules change and evolve for player safety. That’s like tryin’ to call an NFL player soft because he jumps up mad because a dun closed lined him or blind sided him when he’s nowhere near the darn play. Sure, those were legal plays 30 years ago but you can’t do it now. So if the player is upset because a boy pulled an old school stunt he has every right to be mad and the referee is supposed to call the foul.

What Sabonis did in Game 2 to LeBron was some ole Bill Laimbeer type foolishness. It was rightfully called a Flagrant 1 and they moved on. Then the dun on my thread says that “these dudes don’t even fight anymore. Back in the day a boy would have gotten up and swung on him.”

Sometimes I think these cats are stuck in the twilight zone. Back in the day players could fight and not miss a minute of action. Now you fight and they’re gettin’ ejected and losin’ a game check or checks. “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

Old School Playas, come up to speed on today’s game. Y’all still walkin’ around wearin’ bell bottom pants and combin’ your hair to the front. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
