The Jay Graves Report

Why Kobe is one of the GREATEST ever but I’d still let him walk! “Bean”

"Thanks for the love playas!"

Winston Churchill once said, “The price of greatness is responsibility.” Lucius Annaeus Seneca, the ancient Roman philosopher, gave it to us like this, “It is a rough road that leads to heights of greatness.” William Shakespeare got deep on a boy with, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.”

Well…Kobe “Bean” Bryant didn’t have greatness thrust upon him, he simply went out and earned it playboy! Regardless of how you feel about this dun’s personality, he’s one on the greatest players to EVER lace them up. On Sunday night in Minnesota he surpassed the G.O.A.T. in total points scored with 32,292 to become third all-time behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36, 928).

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! When Kobe came into the league in ’96 as great of a high school player as he was, he was the cat that boyz laughed at because he was tryin’ too hard to be Jordan. He walked like him, talked like him and even chewed gum like him. Like the young thunder cats say right now, “He was doin’ way too much!”

"I love you man!" Mike: "Get this dun off of me!"
“I love you man!” Mike: “Get this dun off of me!”

But 19 years later I guess you can say that he did what he was supposed to do. We’ve seen very few cats approach the game with his intensity and passion and for that you’ve got to give him his props. He’s one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Now if I was ridin’ dirty or about to get into somethin’ that I didn’t want boyz to know about I wouldn’t give that dun a ride though. If I was plottin’ and schemin’ a come up I’d wait until he left the room to tell boyz about it. But if I needed a boy to run on my team then he’s my guy. He’s gonna give you everything he’s got EVERY night.

Big props to Kobe “Bean” Bryant for puttin’ in work and showin’ boyz what real passion for the game looks like. Very few cats play the game with his desire to be great and for that I’m grateful to have been able to see him put it down for 19 years. With all of that said, I’d still roll past that dun and blow the horn if he was walkin’ because he’ll snitch on boy in a minute!
