Why Colt’s Frank Reich made ABSOLUTELY the right decision to go for it! “Winning vs. Losing”

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. — Everybody and their baby’s momma is talking about Frank Reich’s decision to go for it on fourth and 4 with 24 seconds left to play in overtime. His decision to go for it eventually resulted in a 37-34 overtime Colt’s loss.

Indianapolis was on their own 43 yard line when they failed to pick up the first down. As a result the Texans took over on downs. DeShawn Watson then hit DeAndre Hopkins on a 19-yard completion which set up a 37-yard field goal by Kai’mi Fairbairn to win the game.

After the game here’s what Colts head coach Frank Reich had to say about his decision to go for it. “We’re gonna go for that 10 times out of 10.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! In my Herm Edwards voice, “Hello!!!! You-Play-To-Win-The-Game!!” I’m blown away at the amount of duns hollerin’ mad at Reich for trying to win the game. What was the alternative? To punt it away and eventually end the game in a tie? That makes no sense because you’ve practiced all week to try to win the game.

Do you realize how much time and effort goes into preparing for a darn game? The hours of film study and working hours in the office, not to mention the time on the field getting ready for a game. So now you want this man and his team to settle for a tie when they had an opportunity to try and win it. C’mon bruh!!! Where are you from?

If they’d converted on that play everybody would be singing his praises right now. It’s a risk that made sense to everybody looking to win the game. Nobody prepares to settle for a tie. That’s stupid!! Not if you’ve been out there busting your butt all week. I’ve got TALL respect for Reich for trying to win the game.

Remember when Tom Osborne went for the two point conversion in the 1984 Orange Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes? They scored a touchdown with no time left. They were down by one point. The national title was on the line. If they’d simply tied the game with the extra point they would still gone on to win the national title because they were ranked No.1. Osborne said that they didn’t play the game to tie so he went for two. They missed it and Miami won the national title. He’s been the most respected person in Nebraska ever since not to mention one of the most respected coaches in the history college football. Why? Because he didn’t settle for the tie. He sacrificed it all because he wanted to win. That’s why they play the game.

You’ve got to be crazy if you think that Frank Reich’s decision to win the game was a bad one if you tuned in to watch it or if you bought a darn ticket to the game. Why would you voluntarily buy a ticket or turn on the TV to cheer for a tie? Just take your fan hat off for one minute and think rationally. Would it make sense for you to work your butt off to get a promotion on the job only to share it with the person you were interviewing against? I didn’t think so. Stop me when I start lyin’!

  1. I’m not mad at Frank Reich but first of all he wasn’t going for a win opposing to a loss it was a tie and at the end of the season a half-game can matter
