LANDOVER, Md. — Hold on a second dawg! Everything I’ve read this morning is highlighting the Bears offense and Mitch Trubisky throwing three touchdown passes in the first half alone to Taylor Gabriel. During the first two weeks of the season ole boy, Trubisky, only had one touchdown. So everybody and their baby’s momma is excited about them puttin’ that thang on Washington 31-15 on Monday Night Football.
I keep reading about the up tempo offense that was implemented to help them get loose. However, it’s not until deep into the articles that they talk about the real reason the Bears exploded on the Redskins. Their defense was phenomenal!!! That’s the reason why the offense was able to kick into gear and look as good as they did. The defense shortened the darn field all night.
They looked like the ’85 Bears defense as they forced Case Keenum into five turnovers. Ha Ha Clinton Dix, a former Redskin, ripped him for two picks including one for a touchdown. Then Kyle Fuller went into his pocket and grabbed one. To make matters worse both Khalil Mack and Danny Trevathan got him for forces fumbles each.
That’s the reason why the Bears offense was purring like a kitten on Monday Night Football. The defense was paying all of the bills and the offense was simply putting the stamp on the envelope playa. It was nuts what they were able to do.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! If that defense continues to play like that the rest of the season they’ll be hard to beat. Was it the Bears being that good or were the Redskins just that bad. We’ll see going forward. However, Bears fans will take the “W” either way right? Put your seat belts on it should be fun to watch. the rest of the way. Stop me when I start lyin’!
