Purdue goes down swingin’ but reps Indiana well! “Salute to the Boilermakers”

Salute to these cats for holdin' Indiana down in the NCAA Tournament. Photo: USA Today.

Where’s ole John Wooden when you need him? No.2 seeded Purdue could have used the former All-American on Friday night as they ran up against the No.3 Red Raiders from Texas Tech. After the smoke cleared Purdue was on their way back to West Lafayette with a 78-65 “L” in the Sweet Sixteen.

Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard had beaten the Boilermakers for the second time in three years in the NCAA Tournament. He knocked them off in the first round in 2016 when he was at Arkansas Little Rock and now he’s got them again with the Red Raiders.

The Boilermakers were without their No.2 scorer and rebounder, Isaac Haas, for the second consecutive game because of a broken elbow. That really hurt Matt Painter’s squad. Sure, Matt Haarms is an inch taller than Haas at 7’3″ but he’s 40 pounds lighter in the bottom. So he ain’t Isaac Haas bruh! Ole boy finished the night with 4 points and 3 rebounds. Let me say that again playboy! He’s 7’3″ and finished with 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Carsen Edwards came out of the whip ballin though. He finished the night with 30 points as his homeboy Vincent Edwards, no relation, dropped off a solid 13 points and 12 rebounds. P.J. Thompson chipped in 10 points on his way to Big Momma’s house.

The Boilermakers got virtually nothin’ out of the bushes. They finished with 6 points off of the bench while Tech produced 33 points out of Uncle LeRoy’s hedges.

Well…at least the Boilermakers were fun to watch this year winnin’ 30 games and remainin’ in the Top 5 for most of the season. They did more with less and held the basketball state down with hella pride. That’s a far cry from what I can say about the duns down in Bloomington. They were a complete dumpster fire and I don’t see it gettin’ any better because they can’t recruit. Keep bangin’ Boilermakers. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

4) Whip: noun – luxury vehicle

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
