Purdue gets Big Senior Night win over Minnesota!

West Lafayette- Purdue Men’s basketball (26-5, 15-3 Big Ten Conference) finish the regular season with 84-60 win over Minnesota last night in Macey Arena.  As it was senior night in West Lafayette the Boiler seniors wanted to send-off the fans with a win. Dakota Mathais did just that and he played like it was his last game he would ever play. Mathias led all scorers with 25 points also adding seven points, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Purdue went into half time with a 37-29 lead over the Golden Gophers. In the second half they came out and wanted to entertain the fans. To start the second half the Boilers went 7 of 7 form beyond the arc on a 24-7 run. Senior Isaac Haas finished with 13 points while the other senior Vincent Edwards added 10 on his return after being out the last couple of games.

Carsen Edwards was nothing short of what he does on a usual night adding 18 points and seven assists to help his seniors. Minnesota (15-16, 4-14 Big Ten Conference) while battling injury this season had no answer for the red-hot Boilers as they continued to cruise to the end of the season.
With last night’s win the senior class for Purdue, PJ Thompson, Dakota Mathias, Vincent Edwards, and Isaac Haas, broke the triple digits mark in wins to win their 100th win.

Purdue will take a break and get ready for the Big Ten Conference Tournament to see who they will play Friday. That will take place in New York at Madison Square Garden.
