INDIANAPOLIS — Everybody and their baby’s momma, Uncle LeRoy and Cousin Man-Man has been sitting in the cut waiting to see what the Indiana Pacers were going to do this free agent season. Well Pacers fan Kevin Pritchard showed up with his Superman cape on with some fresh new leggings and did the darn thing. He saved the baby from the burning building and kept the car from falling over the bridge and saved the Pacers from looking crazy in free agency.

Just when it looked bleak for the 2019-20 season because Victor Oladipo isn’t expected to be back until at least January, if not February. Then the big homies Bojan Bogdanovic and Thad Young would be in the wind in free agency. What would the Pacers do to rebound?

Pritchard showed up and put something together that folks around here could be happy with at least on paper. He needed some offense right out of the gate because with Oladipo on the shelf it wasn’t there. So now he’s got a back court that can “give him something he can feel” like Aretha Franklin.

They picked up Malcolm Brogdon in a trade from Milwaukee to run the point. They gave up a first round pick and two future first round picks. Ole boy agreed to a four-year deal worth $85 million. He averaged 15.6 points and 3.2 assists last season for the Bucks.

They’ve swooped Jeremy Lamb at the two where he averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in Charlotte last year. T.J. Warren comes in from Phoenix a few weeks ago at the three as he averaged 18 points per game last season. That’s a good set up for the Pacers as Domantas Sabonis still holds down the four giving you 14.1 points and 9.3 rebounds a game and Myles Turner at the five who led the league in blocks as well as giving a boy 13.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. And they got younger!!!

Not bad for the Pacers knowing that at some point Vic is coming back. I’ll take it and I’m quite sure that the Pacers faithful will too. I can’t wait until mid October rolls around. It should be fun to see the fire power on display at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Stop me when I start lyin’!
