Pacers pick up their first win of the season in Brooklyn 118-108! “Finally”

BROOKLYN, NY. — It has been 31 seasons since the Indiana Pacers started a campaign with an 0-4 record. Well playas…they weren’t about to start the season with 4 straight losses this year so they booted up in Brooklyn and walked out of the joint with a 118-108 victory over the Nets.

With Myles Turner leaving the game in the first quarter with a right ankle sprain Domantas Sabonis took over to lead Indiana with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jeremy Lamb dropped off 25 points as Malcolm Brogdon added 21 and TJ Warren 20 on his way to Big Momma’s house.

The Pacers bench still struggled to put points on the board finishing with only 16 points but it was enough to get the “W.”

Indiana shot 47 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc while holding the Nets to a mere 32 percent from three-point land. Kyrie Irving led the Nets with 28 points.

Just as the Blue and Gold were just starting to build the necessary chemistry they needed to move forward this season. Myles Turner goes down with an ankle injury. Hopefully, he won’t be out very long because Nate McMillan’s plan is to use both he and Domantas Sabonis together to build this winner.

“That’s what we’re going with. We signed Domantas to an extension and these are the bigs we’re going into the future with. This is something that we decided on giving this a look and a try this season.”

Even without Turner in the lineup for most of the game the Pacers were able to muster up enough energy from Sabonis to keep the Nets in check. Up next the Pacers host Cleveland at the crib. Stop me when I start lyin’!
