Heat take a commanding 2-0 lead over Celtics and it’s darn near a wrap! “Grit vs Frustration”

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it 1000 times! Advancing deep into the playoffs is for veteran led teams. Why? Because when it gets thick they know how to respond to adversity. The Miami Heat led by the grit of Jimmy Butler just keeps proving my theory right.

Down 13 points at the break they found a way to comeback again to beat the Boston Celtics 106-101. Now they’re sitting on a 2-0 series lead about ready to finish these young boyz off. This is the 11th time in Eric Spoelstra’s tenure that the Heat has taken a 2-0 series lead. They won the previous 10. That’s a problem for the Celtics playa.

In Game 1 the Heat were down 17 points and came back. Again, this is a problem for the C’s.

The Heat as a franchise had been 0-21 in playoff games when trailing by at least 13 points at the break. Now they’re 1-21.

After being down 60-47 at the break they came out and did work in the third quarter outscoring Boston 37-17 with Bam Adebayo scoring 15 of those points. He darn near outscored the Celtics by himself. By the time the quarter was over the Heat were up 84-77.

When the dust settled Miami was up 2-0 and the Celtics were in their locker room at each other’s throats. The noise was intense and the walls couldn’t hold it in. That’s called being frustrated that you can’t finish a boy off when you’re up double digits…twice.

All five Miami starters finished in double figures. Goran Dragic led the Heat with 25 points followed by Bam with 21 and Duncan Robinson had 18. Jimmy Butler dropped off 14 with Jae Crowder giving a boy 12. Tyler Herro even came off of the bench with 11.

Kemba Walker led the Celtics with 23 as both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown finished with 21.

Game 3 is Saturday.
