INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers finally beat the Boston Celtics after seven tries. They were swept in the playoffs last season and were down 10-points to start the fourth quarter of Wednesday night’s game. However, they found the confidence to dig out of a hole to win it 122-117.

In other words, the Pacers handled the C’s like some real G’s with the leadership of Malcolm Brogdon’s 29 points going 15 for 15 from the free throw line.

Winning a game like that against an elite team like the Celtics will really boost the Pacers confidence going forward according to Brogdon. “One of our problems all season has been closing out these games against elite teams. Tonight we were able to do that so it will definitely help our confidence.”

Indiana was down 94-84 to start the fourth quarter and the Holiday brothers activated like the Wonder Twins. They exploded for 20 fourth quarter points to help guide the Pacers past Boston.

The Blue and Gold had six players in double figures led by Brogdon’s 29. The Holiday brothers, Aaron and Justin, dropped off a smooth 18 and 17 points respectively.

Domantas Sabonis dropped off his usual double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. This kid is becoming a double-double machine. TJ Warren stopped through with 14 and Myles Turner delivered a solid 11 for good measure.

Indiana was able to hold the Celtics off even though three-time All-star Kemba Walker went off for a season high 44-points connecting on seven 3-pointers and throwing 7 dimes.

Up next Pacers head to Atlanta to try to extend their winning streak to six game against them.
