Pacers guard Malcolm Brodgon tests positive for Coronavirus. However, still wants to use his platform to make a difference socially.

Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon has tested positive for the Coronavirus. In a statement he had this to say, “I recently tested positive for the Covid virus and am currently in quarantine. I’m doing well, feeling well and progressing well. I plan to join my teammates in Orlando for the resumption of the NBA season and playoffs.”

As teams prepare to head to Orlando to resume the NBA season Brogdon will have to take it slow on the rebound to the season as he quarantines.

The Pacers (39-26) are one of 22 teams that will be competing the rest of the way as the season resumes on July 30. Brogdon was putting in work for Indiana before being sidelined with a a hip muscle injury missing three games before the Coronavirus put a chill on the season.

He was averaging 16.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists through 48 games.

During the shut down he’s been an outspoken advocate for social justice and is willing to use his platform to make a difference during this resumption of play as well.

In an appearance on J.J. Redick’s podcast he had this to say, “Everybody going to be watching us. We have all the cameras. There are no other sports on. Everybody wants us to play right now, and that means everybody’s going to be watching. There’s only 22 teams that are going to be there. And as you go, if your team advances to the second or third round of the playoffs, the attention on you and your platform … it actually grows the [longer] you stay in Orlando. So that’s definitely a perspective I want guys to think about and understand before they make a decision.”

Good luck homie!! Get well soon!
