INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers went cold turkey on scoring the basketball in the third quarter on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City after being up 9 points at the break. They went on an NBA high this season for giving up points and not scoring as the Thunder went on 24-0 run from the 10:48 mark of the third quarter to 3:57 mark to go on to lose 107-99. That’s NUTS!!!

It seems like they should have gotten beaten by more than that though. Give them credit for at least holding on to the knot at the end of the rope and not getting blown completely out of the joint.

The Thunder had lost their last 5 of 6 games so they were capable of laying an egg even after sprinting out to a 24-0 run.

Paul George led all scorers with 31 points as he led the charge to revenge their loss to the Pacers back on March 14. Steven Adams dropped off a solid 25 points and 12 rebounds as Jerami Grant added 19 to the pot. Russell Westbrook (Young Russ) hit them up with his 29th triple double of the season as he dropped off 17 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds.

Hold on a second dawg, Young Russ is averaging yet another triple double ( 22 points, 10.4 rebounds and 11 assists) for the season which is his third straight and nobody’s going nuts about it. He’s the only person in NBA history since Oscar Robertson in 1962 to even do it once and now he’s dropped off three in a row? That’s a Hot Joint in and of itself today so stay tuned for that.

The Pacers were led by Bojan Bogdanovic with 28 points as Domantas Sabonis hit them up for 18 points and 10 rebounds. Myles Turner came through with a solid 12 points and 14 rebounds.

That 24-0 run by the Thunder killed them. Nate McMillan speaking with reporters after the game had this to say, “That was the game. We knew they were going to come out aggressive. Paul and Westbrook came out aggressive, attacking the basket, scoring. They made their run and were able to get the momentum and just really take control of the game.”

Sometimes that’s how it goes down bruh. The Pacers are in action on Friday in Boston.
