DETROIT — The Indiana Pacers finally snapped their 10-game road losing streak winning for just the third time in 10 overall games. On Wednesday night they ran up to Detroit and beat the brakes off of the Pistons 108-89.

Sure, the Pistons were without Blake Griffin who was out with a sore left knee but that’s the way the ball bounces in the NBA. Ole boy hadn’t missed but six games all season as Detroit continues to battle for a playoff spot. They’re currently sitting in the sixth spot in the East.

Indiana was led by Thaddeus Young’s 21 points followed by Bojan Bogdanovic and Myles Turner who dropped off 17 apiece. Domantas Sabonis had a solid double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds as Doug McDermott contributed 14 points to the party.

Nate McMillan had this to say about his team afterwards, “We talked about trying to be road tough tonight. We wanted to come out and play well, and I thought the guys did from start to finish. Offensively, we didn’t shoot the ball particularly well, but our defense was able to help hold the lead.”

The Pacers are still tied for fourth with the Boston Celtics so every win counts at this point. As a matter of fact, they butt heads on Friday in Indianapolis as Boston currently holds a 2-1 edge over the Pacers in the head to head match up this season. In my old school Puff Daddy voice, “It’s getting real in the field.”
