How Stephen A. Smith and Jalen Rose showed how out of touch they really are! “Tellin’ a cat not to get Paid”

On this past Monday not twenty-four hours after the Duke Blue Devils loss to Michigan State in the Elite Eight. The talking heads started chattering and talking as crazy as they could possibly talk. I was watching ESPN’s “Get Up” and they had the big homie Stephen A. Smith on with Jalen Rose. As I’m listening to these cats talk I quickly came to the conclusion that these cats are so out of touch that’s it’s ridiculous. They’ve been rich for way too long.

The both of them are literally sitting here talking about how Duke’s Cam Reddish didn’t play particularly well down the stretch in the NCAA Tournament and that he needs to stay in school another year. WHAT!!!? These are the words of people that have been rich too long that have forgotten what an empty stomach or bank account feels or looks like.

It doesn’t matter how well or terrible Cam Reddish played in the tournament or during the regular season. He’s projected to be a Top 10 pick in the upcoming NBA draft. That means that he’s a lottery pick bruh. Let me put it where the goats can get it. I’ve seen him projected as high as 5 to as low as 8 in most mock draft boards.

That’s means that the dun stands to make anywhere from $16 million to as low as $12 million over a three year period GUARANTEED. It doesn’t matter whether he’s ready or not! If he’s still alive on draft day that money is GUARANTEED!! However, these rich cats are trying to tell him that he needs to stay in school for another year and risk falling in the draft or getting hurt when bread is already on the table? That’s called being WAY OUT OF TOUCH with reality.

Cam Reddish staying in school for an additional year helps nobody but Duke make more money. He’s not playing against better competition so why does it make sense for him to stay in school. He’s not trying to graduate at this point. His job is basketball so why not get paid to do what it is that you do?

Jalen is from the hood in Detroit and didn’t have a pot or a window when he was Cam Reddish’s age but he’s trying to tell this man that he should stay in school and leave potentially upwards of $16 million on the table? How silly does that sound?

If the kid can make that type of bread then it only makes sense to go get it. If he’s not ready that’s the NBA’s fault not Cam Reddish’s. An old timer once told me that you’re always worth what someone is willing to pay you. If the NBA is crazy enough to pay him that type of bread then it’s time for him to take it. Stop me when I start lyin’!
