Oladipo reminds boyz that “It’s My City” as he drills the Celtics down the stretch. “Wipe Me Down”

INDIANAPOLIS — When Paul George decided to stop lyin’ to boyz around here a couple of summers ago about whether he wanted to be here or not the Pacers made a move. They shipped him to OKC for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. Initially the trade looked like the Pacers had gotten stuck with a ham sandwich and some cold fries because neither Oladipo or Sabonis had made too much noise in the league up to that point.

Everybody in Indiana was familiar with Vic because he played his college ball at nearby IU. However, he hadn’t cut loose in the league yet initially being drafted by Orlando and then having to watch Young Russ (Russell Westbrook) do everything in OKC.

Well playas…unless you’ve been under a rock for the past year everybody and their baby’s momma knows that this is Victor Oladipo’s city and if you didn’t know he’ll make sure you are reminded as often as possible. On Saturday night the Boston Celtics rolled into town with a star studded lineup. Uncle Drew was in the building fresh off of a hit movie so boyz packed the house to see him. Brownsburg’s own Gordon Hayward came through to holler at the homies too.

However, none of that mattered to Vic down the stretch when it actually counted. Let’s skip all of the preliminaries and get right down to it. Kyrie knocks down a 3-pointer with 37.2 seconds left to put the C’s up 101-97. Trip? No trip!! Boston’s Jalen Brown fouls Oladipo with 29.2 seconds to go. Vic, like a G, steps up to the line and buries them both to make it 101-99.

With 11 seconds to go Oladipo rebounds an Uncle Drew miss and walks that joint up the floor like an old pimp at a Detroit Gator convention and with 3.4 seconds left he pulls up over Al Horford for the three like he wasn’t even there. In my Slick Leonard voice, “Boom Baby!”

Trip? No trip!!! Vic skips over to the bench pointing at the floor like he always does, tellin’ boyz that “It’s My City!” He was on some ole “Wipe Me Down” type foolishness just to let a boy know. You got movies but this is my town right here playa.

The celebration was short lived because the Celtics still had a timeout to burn to set up an inbound play to win it. Vic not only deflects Gordon Hayward’s pass but he steals it and game over.

Thank goodness Paul George got tired of lyin’ to the fans and media in the Indianapolis market. I wish more players would just keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st because Vic may not have ever shown up on the Pacers doorstep without Paul coming clean. Thanks bruh it’s been fun to watch. Stop me when I start lyin’!
