When the New York Giants agreed to pay Odell Beckham Jr. $95 million with $65 million of it guaranteed last summer I wrote a Crazy Hot Joint entitled “Emotional” that talked about how they were out of their minds to give ole boy that type of bread. Not because he’s not a great receiver but because he’s way too emotional and can’t keep his feelings in check. Well playas… it didn’t take long for him to jump out of the birthday cake butt naked foamin’ at the mouth just four games in. On Sunday morning ESPN aired an interview that Josina Anderson did with he and Lil’ Wayne earlier in the week and ole boy threw his team under the bus and especially his quarterback.
When asked if there was an issue at quarterback ole boy didn’t hesitate to answer it by backing up right over Eli Manning. Here’s his response. “I don’t know, Like I said, I feel like he’s not going to get out the pocket. He’s not — we know Eli’s not running it. But is it a matter of time issue? Can he still throw it, yeah, but it’s been pretty safe and it’s been, you know … cool catching shallow [routes] and trying to take it to the house. But I’m, you know, I want to go over the top of somebody.”
He goes on to say this about having to turn short passes into huge gains etc. “I feel like in the past five years, they found a way to run a Cover 2, keep everything in front, and that’s how they played me. And there’s no way to — how do we beat this? I feel like I’m being outschemed, and then I also don’t have a chance to, like, do something where I’ve got to take a slant and go 60. And not to say that’s not fun, but it’s like I want some easy touchdowns too. I watch everybody across the league. All the top receivers get the ball the way that they, you know, should. And if they don’t, they say something about it.”
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Everybody and their baby’s momma knows that the Giants are terrible and needed to select a quarterback in last spring’s draft. Eli has been done for several years now. However, he’s your quarterback and you can’t slam him. They took Saquon Barkley instead like that was going to make a difference to a team that’s horrible up front with an aging 37-year old QB. They needed all kinds of pieces.
So when OBJ hollered and screamed for the extension and the bread he knew what he was signing up for. So don’t sit here and act like you’re upset because the team sucks. This dude could care less if the Giants win another game. He just wants the ball over the top and wants to look like the man. This isn’t about winning and losing for him it’s about him getting his touches.
I would almost guarantee that if he got his targets and they finished 1-15 OBJ would be happy because it’s not about the team it’s about him. Why? Because there are just some things that you don’t reveal to the media while you’re still playing on the team you just slammed. Especially when the ink isn’t even dry on the contract you just signed. Stop me when I start lyin’!
