NO! Your mind isn’t playing tricks on you like the Geto Boys! You didn’t lose your mind like Young Jeezy and Plies would suggest. You “just fine, 12:45 it’s bout that time” that you start trusting your eyeballs and stop hating on LeBron James. In year 17 the Philistine is still the best player on the planet and it isn’t even close.
After putting the Lakers on his back in Game 5 of the West Conference Finals to eliminate the Denver Nuggets 4-1 with a 117-107 win. It’s time for all LBJ haters to stand down. The dun put up a monster triple double with 38 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Did I mention that it was year 17 and that he’s darn near 36 years old?
A few days ago I wrote the crazy Hot Joint entitled “Now What’s The Excuse?” breaking down how all of the haters for years said that the only reason this cat was getting to the Finals every year was because he was playing in the weak East. Now he’s plowing through the West with the same ease. So I’m asking again what’s the excuse this time? Did all of the talent suddenly leave the West and go to the East? I’m asking?
Everybody and their baby’s momma was convinced that Kawhi was the best player in the league after LeBron’s Lakers didn’t make the playoffs last year. Boyz forgot that when the dun got hurt on Christmas Day he’d already taken the Lakers out of the abyss and only two games out of first place in the West in less than two months. He missed 18 games so they didn’t make the playoffs. Why? Because the Lakers were still a dumpster fire without him.
Everybody fell for the smoke and mirrors of Giannis leading the Bucks two seasons in a row to the best record in the NBA only to get thrown out of the car like ole Eddie Kane. Legacies are made in the playoffs playa.
We also heard boyz hollerin’ that KD was the best player on the planet once he joined an already championship team that he literally had down 3-1. For some reason because he won two titles with a team that would have won those ships anyway. He was anointed the best player. Blows my mind but that was the foolishness on the street.
However, the guy that has proven that wherever he goes he takes teams from being, in my NOTORIOUS B.I.G. voice, “Ashy to Classy.” I know that there is LeBron exhaustion but he’s clearly the best player on the planet and it isn’t even close.
Year 17 and he’s still playing every position on the floor every night. He’s guarding the 1 through the 5 and will pick up the best player when needed. We saw him completely shut down Jamal Murray in the last five minutes of Game 4 like it was a walk in the park. He’s darn near 36 and 17 years in bruh!!! Did I mention that? I think so but I’m just making sure.
This cat is consistent! He’s the best year in and year out. We can end all of this foolishness if you just say UNCLE! That way we can move on and watch the Finals in peace. Stop me when I start lyin’!
