Lawrence Central’s Jasen Graves is out here putting boyz on notice! “Game Recognize Game”

INDIANAPOLIS — When the IndyStar released the 2019 pre-season Area Super Team one name was glaringly missing. Lawrence Central’s transfer quarterback, Jasen Graves. The Pike transfer led the Red Devils in passing a year ago with more than 2,000 yards in the air.

As a matter of fact, he was the leading returning passer in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. However, for some strange reason he was left off of the pre-season hype for 2019. Was it maybe because he was transferring schools that they thought that he wouldn’t be as good as he was at Pike?

I’m not sure why, seeing that he was going to be running the same exact system that he ran at Pike. Why? Because his dad, former Pike head coach, Jimmy Graves, is now the offensive coordinator at Lawrence Central.

In just three games in a Bears uniform he’s shown out and is once again leading the M.I.C. in passing (776 yards) and in touchdowns (9). He’s put up 8 of those touchdowns in the past two weeks. He’s ranked fourth in the state in passing yards. That’s NUTS!!!

Sure, Lawrence Central got out of the gate slow with two straight losses to open the 2019 campaign but they’ve been putting up crazy numbers. Last week they finally took what belonged to them by knocking off Lawrence North in the Battle for Lawrence for the 15th consecutive time.

Graves gave them fits all night with the zone read option that he runs like a champ. When he lines up he looks like he’s been there before and the level of confidence he has to either throw the rock or tuck it is amazing.

Now that they’ve gotten a win under their belts the Bears will seriously be a problem for everyone else on their schedule with Jasen Graves at the helm. In my Terrell Owens voice, “Get Ya Popcorn Ready!” Stop me when I start lyin’!
