INDIANAPOLIS — Even without their two leading scorers, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williams, who average a combined 44.7 points per game the New Orleans Pelicans were able to beat the Indiana Pacers 124-117 on Saturday night. Led by Jru Holiday’s 31 points in which ole boy exploded for 14 of them in the final 2:26. NUTS!!!

This loss was the fifth straight for the Pacers while New Orleans improved to 10-4 in their last 14 road games.

Everybody and their baby’s momma, Uncle LeRoy and cousin Spanky came to see Zion Williamson’s Indianapolis NBA debut but he was banged up. He was injured in Friday’s game against the Bulls and was a game time decision that went south at game time for all the fans that showed up to see him.

Indiana’s Victor Oladipo sat out of Saturday’s contest as well because he’s not ready for back to back’s just yet. The Pacers are being very careful with their franchise player as you can imagine.

JJ Reddick added 22 points off of the bench for the Pelicans as they handled their business. Without their two best scorers and forwards they still out-rounded the Pacers 53-37. Incredible!!!

All five of Indiana’s starters scored in double figures despite not getting the win. Jeremy Lamb led them with 26 points followed by TJ Warren’s 22. Malcolm Brogdon dropped off 17 as Domantas Sabonis scored 16. Myles Turner had 10.

Indiana’s bench only managed to score 26 points total.

What was really cool was to see was all three Holiday brothers on the floor. Jru playing for New Orleans and Justin and Aaron for the Pacers. That was incredible. To have three siblings playing in the NBA at the same time is like getting struck by lightening three times in the same day in three different locations. Darn near impossible.

The chances of having one child make it to the NBA is less than 1 percent and O.G. Holiday has three. What a blessing. Up next for Indiana the Brooklyn Nets roll into town on Monday.
