JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Indiana Hoosiers rolled into the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl after having one it’s of most successful seasons in twenty years. Tom Allen and Co. were on the verge bringing the university it’s first bowl win since 1991 when Trent Green was at the helm.

However, within a span of 30 seconds the Hoosiers completely wet the bet as Tennessee scored two touchdowns to shock Indiana 23-22 to walk out of the joint with the trophy.

IU got out of the gate slow only managing a field goal in the first half while not being able to protect Peyton Ramsey. Ole boy was scrambling for his life in the first half as Tennessee continued to bring pressure.

However, after coming out of the break Ramsey started to use his legs to keep the Volunteers honest which allowed the passing game to open up. By the time I bit into my hot dog good the Hoosiers were up 22-9 with 3:54 left to play. They scored two touchdowns in a minute and three seconds with the second one coming on a 63-yard pick six by Jamar Johnson.

Boyz got so excited thinking about the after-party in the hotel lobby that they forgot to play the rest of the game. In a span of 30 seconds they gave up two touchdowns. The second Tennessee touchdown came after they recovered the onside kick that EVERYBODY and their baby’s momma knew was coming. Running back Eric Gray swooped the rock up after it went the mandatory 10-yards while the Indiana receiving team just seemed to watch the ball go by. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

A few plays later Gray scored from 16-yarsds out with just 30 seconds left to play and it was pretty much a wrap.

IU took over but couldn’t do anything with it. They were shook at that point and the after-party was cancelled.

Big props to Coach Allen and Co. for showing up but the game is 60 minutes long and you’ve got to be willing to play it until the horn sounds.

It was a great year for Indiana Hoosiers football fans and they can definitely look forward to Tom Allen building the program to greater heights. He’s recruiting his butt off and the university believes in him as they’ve thrown the bag at him paying him darn near $4 million per year. I’d say they believe the heck out of him. Indiana football is now out of the shadows of basketball in Bloomington. Salute my brothers. Let’s Go Hoosiers!!!
