The Jay Graves Report

Why IU fans should eat the cheeseburger and don’t ask for the filet! “Warning”

"Turnt Up and Ret-to-go!"

Kim Collins, the world champion sprinter, once said, “Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection.” Benjamin Franklin gave it to us like this, “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” Then William Pollard, the famous physicist, broke it down like a playa at a pimp convention when he spit, “Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.”

Well playas…it looks like ole Kevin Wilson is managin’ the change that was inevitable down in Bloomington when he took over five years ago. On Saturday his Hoosiers beat instate rival Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket and they won their definin’ 6th game of the year, which makes them bowl eligible.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! All boyz (fans) are lookin’ for down in Bloomington is to win 6 or 7 gamed a year and go to a dull bowl. It can be the Big Momma’s Chicken and Biscuits Bowl for all they care bruh. As long as they get to the post-season.

Winnin’ 6 or 7 games a year makes the program better because by goin’ to a bowl game the program gets additional practices that programs that don’t participate in a bowl get. It’s essentially a jump start to spring ball. So with the Hoosiers goin’ to it second consecutive bowl they’ll get the additional practiced necessary to become a better football team in 2017. Success breeds success.

Not to mention creatin’ a more enthused fan base to support the program. The more successful the program the more bread that is generated from boosters and alumni. See how this all works?

With the win on Saturday the Hoosiers have won the Bucket four consecutive times! That’s the first time that’s happened since they did it in 1944-47. This is also the first time that they’ve earned back-to-back bowl bids since 1990-91.

What does it mean playa? It means that the Hoosiers are turnin’ the corner. Again, let me warn the dull fans not to get greedy because this is as good as it’s goin’ to get. It’s still Indiana!! This isn’t a football school where everybody and their baby’s momma is tryin’ to run into the joint to play. Take what you can get and be happy with it.

The last time you had a VERY good coach, Bill Mallory, that turned the corner you ran him out of town because of your greed. It’s Indiana bruh! Winnin’ 6 or 7 games is as good as it’s goin’ to get. Take the dull Chicken and Waffles bowl game and have a good time durin’ the Christmas holiday. Make a vacation out of it but don’t look for anymore than that.

Don’t start lookin’ over the neighbor’s fence and wishin’ that you could go to the New Year’s Day bowls etc. You can’t eat the filet, you’ve got to eat this cheesehamburger and be happy with it. Go Hoosiers!!! And did I mention that Purdue’s uni’s were sweet? If they played as good as they looked they would be goin’ to a bowl game. And stop me when I start lyin’!
