Well playas…all of the waiting is finally over. It’s finally January 13 and every eye ball interested in sports in America will be on the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans tonight at 8pm. The LSU Tigers finally get to bump heads with the Clemson Tigers.
They’re both undefeated at 14-0 after sprinting through everyone on their respective schedules. Now something’s gotta give. Who’s going to walk out of the joint alive tonight?
LSU is battle tested having gone through the SEC, winning the SEC and completely destroying Oklahoma in the Semi-final. Clemson, on the other hand, played a weak ACC schedule because the ACC was, well, weak. However, they still sprinted through Ohio State in the semi-final playoff game a couple of weeks ago. Ohio State was probably the most consistent team in college football with monsters on both sides of the ball and they went through them like wet toilet paper.
So what gives in New Orleans tonight? Simple mathematics and geography playa. LSU is playing what is essentially a home game in New Orleans. That’s like trying to stop a locomotive going down hill with no brakes. It’s going to be 70 percent purple and gold in the joint so the home field advantage is going to be on 10.
The only chance Clemson has of winning this game is to keep LSU from leaving the hotel. If Joe Burrow and Co. touch the field it’s going to be a problem. Yes, I know that Clemson’s the defending national champ and that they should be given more respect than that. However, Burrow and Co. playing at home will be too much to overcome. I’m going with LSU playing in Death Valley/New Orleans to win it all. Stop me when I start lyin’!
